Today, I was in Barton 1000.
I love Barton 1000 for the simple fact that I can always find people there, unlike the newest topics, where there's always at least fifty avatars hovering about, and I can't get into a conversation. After all this time, I still don't know the names of the houses except l0cke (who's unfernished except for that clock and lamp,) and Peabull, who people tend to hate. I'm starting to hate him too for that damn lighting, but it's not his fault that he chose whatever lighting he wanted for his home.
Well, I was in the home above Peabulls, and there were a bunch of Tetris blocks shaped like a swastika. Yes, a swastika, not the Hindu symbol that's been in use for thousands of years. And I'm tired of controversy; my journal isn't the too-often self-righteous ED, (cheap-shot,) so I'm just going to say that I stood in front of it to block it partially and make the blocks mad, which it did, but not even some avatar dressed like Hitler without the moustache could make me care that much.
No, what did push my buttons a little were the two male avatars in the left-hand corner. One said to the other, "(Censored name) is that chick wearing all donation items?"
No, I wasn't. I had on Strapless Blue Bra, Soft Blue Underwear, Gold Pocket Watch, G Buckle, G Pin, those dangly new earrings that are cheap from Barton Jewlers, White Stockings, and a Decorative Daisy.
Now, some of you may say that it was a simple question, but I took it as eliteism. I go to the avatar arena, I participate there, and I can judge some avatars by tye nastiest standards, such as relying too heavily on a set. Another thing they don't like is the use of too many donation items. Often, a user will clothe themselves in five halos and call themselves demonic or all pixies or cocos with no theme.
But you know what? This is Towns, and no one should give a ********. So what if my three roses and three pixies are primarily what you see? Do you know how much crap I get for my avatar every time I go into towns? I worked hard for my items, and I'm not rich. I don't have an OMG or an Angelic Scarf, etc. All right, so I'm rich in some standard. I'm not rich enough for the attention I get. I get it, I'm shiny. And most people say that nicely. But then there are the newbs and n00bs.
I DO NOT WANT TO BE YOUR FRIEND.
I can barely see you in the darkness or among fifty other users, and you haven't talked to me. My friend requests are disabled everywhere else on Gaia to prevent this, which makes me wonder, by the way, what happens if two people with disabled friend requests try to add eachother? gonk blaugh
Anyway, why are you going to add me or try to? Maybe I should just take it as a compliment. I'm not conceited, but maybe they think my avatar is pretty or that I just have a bunch of expensive s**t on. And, yes, I do. But I have other expensive s**t I don't wear because it doesn't go with what I'm wearing. I wear what I wear because I believe it looks nice. Not to show off a bunch of items. Hell, you can't even see my anklets under my dress. razz And excuse me if I want my pendant to glow. I paid 200k for that. You see, this is why I don't like the new version of towns, not until we can disable random Friend Requests.
I've had people follow me behind trees, saying, "I SEE UR CURSOR." After begging me for gold. What. the. hell.
All right, those of you with an OMG or an angelic scarf or an Angelic Sash, what the heck do you get in Towns? What about you Mods of all sorts?
I have people following me, literally following me after asking for a donation. People that I've never met before that see me and assume that I have gold because I've worked damn hard for my items and am wearing them. People folow me, after I say no and repeat again and again.
And do you know what I get, when I say "No?" even politely?
"f u"
"HORE HORE HORE HORE HORE HORE HORE."
That's it. I'm going to start making a black list of n00bs.
And, yes, I DO donate, but that's to friends because I'm questing. For what, you might say? Do I truly need anything else? No, I don't need it, but I've had my eye on it, since I joined, and I don't think it's anyone's damn business what I do or don't do with my Gaia gold because I'm the one that earned it.
I'm not sorry that prices have sky-rocketed for you; they've done the same for me, too. And it's not my responsibility to make sure that you get a coco or a kiki. Nor do I care, unless we're having a nice conversation or have something in common.
So to finally get, essentially, ugh, you big, shiny mess, you're just wearing all donation items, thinking you look all pretty and have people telling you . . . that was it.
Really, get over yourself and your oh so old-to-Gaia butt. Get over the fact I do try to make my avy look pretty for myself and then go out into towns to chill. And kindly, people, have some respect in towns.
And you know what, when I'm a UFO, I get death threats. When I'm a turtle, people try to make soup out of me or sit on me. When I wore a ghostie, someone screamed, "KKK!"
Still, the "is that girl wearing all donation items?" as though they couldn't have asked me. As though I wasn't right there reading it. That, was the last straw. Some of you Townspeople are ******** and need to get over yourselves.
