Memories

Memories are a very special thing
They guide your actions and deeds
They guide you yourself
On this journey through life
They shape who you are
No, they ARE who you are
For without Memories
Man is but a hollow shell
In which something could have been
But never was
Without Memories, a man is none
But an empty page in a book
Man does not exist
Where Memories do not
The Memories from when you were a child
The Memories of all your firsts
Those are what keep you going
Both Good and Bad must every man have
For the Good we cherish
And the Bad we learn from
Wegain more and more every day
And when it is time to say good-bye
And you have left your loved ones
Never to see them again
What else do you have left
But the Memories of them?
Those ones whom you hold dear
Are as good as dead
