Death come for you in many different forms
It can be silent and stealthful
Visiting noiselessly in the dead of night
Drowning -- no, suffocating your motionless body
With his eternal darkness.
Or he can arrive obnoxiously
Bringing with him the reckless
Explosions of gunfire, the crash
Of the once seemingly-safe vehicle
Now a shiny metal death-trap, driving you to your doom.
Or even in your food or drink
In the very source of life
Death can still linger within
That bread in your mouth, you could easily choke upon
The wine in your glass, easily it could be poisoned.
And finally, the quick and painless
Suddenly, Death could drop in
And decide to take you
From your friends and family
Your enemies and loved ones.
They may fight it
You may fight it
Unlike I
Who welcomed Death, I took him in
And gave him the bed you died upon
Drove him in the car you died within
Fed him the bread you choked upon
And poured him a glass of your poisoned wine
And when he said it was time to go
I went and walked with Death willingly.
