Some people just aren't good at giving directions. This isn't to say that these people aren't very good navigators... in fact in my findings they tend to be able to find places very well. The problem comes when they try to help other people find the same place that they have found because of their great navigation skills.
By far the best directions given to me by my very dear friend have begun with this: I'm Here... where are you?
To which, as my other hopelessly lost friend would say, the only reponse to that is:
Well if your Here... then obviously I'm Over There. Now how do I get Here?
As you can see, there's a very good reason that I carry a map with me and leave about a half-hour early when going places.
