Here's my thought: NO! Before anyone objects let me show you my reasons. The definition of a sport is:
sport: Physical activity (as in an athletic game)
The wikipedia definition calls it a sport. But what qualities make something a sport? Three things: players (cheerleading has it), rules/guidelines (cheerleading has it), and one team against another (nope!). My thought is , yes it may be hard. So. So is dance. That doesn't make it a sport. Competition cheerleading is probably the closest you can get to it being a sport. I classify Dance and Cheerleading as athletic activities. School cheerleading is just an acedemic activity.
I'm a dancer. I've been dancing for 13 years. No lie. I'm on the dance team. I'm a proud dancer of O.S.S.O.D.. Although the practices are hard, and it takes A LOT of strength and endurance, it's not a sport. As much as I'd like to think it is, I can't kid myself. And again, the closest it's going to get is competition dance. For those who don't know, the dance I'm talking about is Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Litergical (sp?), Hip Hop, Pointe, and Batton.
I'd love to hear other peoples opinions on this. So if you would like, you can add your opinions, but please don't be rude. Be reasonable and civil. Yelling or cursing wont get your point across any better.

Welcome to my journal! I have alot of thoughts about things. If I say something in here you don't like, you can argue it, but don't be rude or call names. If you do argue, please be civil. Just state your opinion/side and I'll look it over. I am very random and fun to be with. If I mention anime couples you think are "noob couples", leave it. I don't think there are such things. What these couples are, are called "Opinions"! lol.
