Thinking about her parents reminded her about the argument that they had. Her 'rents were what she thought of as "super-christians". She had started wondering what it would be like to be Wicca, and her parents werent to kee on that idea. One of her friends had tipped her parents off, and all hell had broken loose.
They had stripped her overspilling shelves of any thing that even mentioned magic, which was most of her books. They even humilated her by taking her to Church and asking everybody to pray for her. That was the last straw, she was sixteen, and she thought that by now she could choose her own religion.
She knew one thing. She wasn't going to let anybody choose anything for her anymore. She was going to crash at one of her more honest friend's places. She had enough money in the bank and a nice job as a waitress that gave above minimum wage. She could make this without her 'rents.

Now that she was sure she had everything, she looked into the gloomy forest. It was only an hour after sunset, but the days were not at there longest yet since summer had just started, so she had only half an hour till it was completely dark. The full moon would be out tonight, she thought. With a shiver she started her way into the darkening forest.
