British Children For PMs
I have not written for a while because of schoolwork, netball matches, story writing, etc. However, over this time I have observed people around my age living in this country.

Now, can I clarify that there is nothing, absolutly nothing different about the Brits compared to the rest of the world; we are just more honest about ourselves than we used to be. Probably to your suprise, we aren't polite, modest, tea drinkers (we prefer hot chocolate these days), commander of a massive empire, navy and army, and nor do we still have industry. There are no bankers in spats and top hats (they've long been fired. High five to the recession), and not many like them anyway. The monarchy is very weak, our politicans are actually quite corrupt, we are poor enough to be a third world country (we aren't because the pound is still reasonably strong) and one third of the country cannot trace British citizens beyond five generations, which is suprising from an old country, and this means a lot of us have gone abroad to Austrailia or Spain.

Also, most of the population, like myself, are incrediably dissatisfied with our country. However, we're supposed to be polite, so we say and do nothing, and so our leaders continue to believe everything's all right, and ban alcohol, our final vice. And did I mention nearly a third of our food comes from China, Brazil and Kenya, the countries with the fastest growing population in the world?

Right, OK, the pessimistic side of the country painted, I'd like to present the better side, the side where the sun has not yet set; the children of Britain. Our media likes to think we have mashed mosquitos for brains, shoot black people, sharpen our knives on school desks before having a good look through the village bicycle (YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN). Thing is, that sort of thing only happens in Hull and East London, areas of disillusion, dependent on industry long gone (shipbuilding, fishing, mining, textiles, etc), where people are depressed and bored, which together make a vicious circle.

The average child (not boy or girl, not even teenager, just child) begins life in a local hospital, and is looked after properly by the nurses, who aren't fifteen with children of their own. They just are overworked at thirty. The child spends the first two years of its life within their town/village/whatever, learning how to eat ice cream, chase pigeons, drink milk through their nose...then s/he would go to nursery, mixing with other munchkins, perfecting nosing milk and learning how to paint something that looks vaguely like a drunk pig, but it's actually mummy.

Then, when the september before their fifth birthday comes, they are bundled off to the cultural whipping boy, the place to be rude about to get anywhere in Britain. School.

Until they are sixteen, which is when they take final exams called GCSEs, they will be brought up, and down again, as they experience one of the best rides in life, where they will learn more than they can ever truly give credit for. It's not just the first four decimal places of Psi or how metals conduct electricity, it's how to interact with people, recieving knowledge from mistakes, how to take blows to one's pride as you are beaten in a football match, a swimming race...I could continue, but to sum it up I should say it's undersanding yourself, or at least the foundations. All disillusioned people out there should see it's no illusion, but it's the reality.

Of course, there is more school after sixteen, but it's not the same; you aren't with a mixture of people then. It's between five and sixteen that is when the classes are truly united.

This is why I think British Children, particularily those still in school, are the sunrise, and should be pushed forwards, not flung behind us. We understand new technology better than most leading mathematicans (which were born in the 1940s and 1950s, the early days of computers), who can't say we have an impatient J.K Rowling ground down by the people of power.

No. Not our politicans. They're too busy counting their votes and being corrupt. I mean the media.
