Jakkson had taken up a dog walking job about a month ago. He'd asked Lottie to go with him today, with only two dogs that needed walking.

Lottie, of course, hadn't originally wanted to go, but ended up doing so. Jakkson had offered Lottie ice cream, and she accepted gracefully.

After fussing with her dress, her ice cream fell, and she pouted as Jakkson laughed, and the dog licked at it.

"I'll buy you another, Lottie, don't worry."

Shui pressed the last number of Deklan's number in, which she'd memorized from calling him from the drugstore, behind the old man's back.

After two rings, Deklan answered with a slurred greeting.

"Deklan?"

"WHISKEY!" Deklan yelled into the phone.

Shui immediately hung up, she'd have none of that from him today.

It was two days before Shui's birthday, and Deklan was scrambling. He had no clue what to get her. After almost a full year of knowing her, he didn't know what to get her at all.

After a couple of beers left from a trip out of town, thanks to his fake ID, he came up with a great idea. He'd sing a song fro her, and play the guitar.

Boy, he'd be in for a long day.

Jakkson had always been a shy boy. Well, a shy-er boy. But when Lottie was around, she damn near mane him mute.

Weeks after Jakkson gave Lottie his number, he decided to call. After five times of calling, then hanging up, Jakkson called one last time.

"Hi... Charlotte?"
