Doma Yuset
I love Yugioh, although some may think it is geeky. I write Fanfictions about it, read some too. I also like to talk about cats, other cartoon, and lots of pointless random stuff.
STOP
You guys should be warned right away. You are about to read a school paper for gay rights, written by me. People told me it was good and just needed some examples. (Like the time when a group of homosexuals went to get married and got stoned by a bunch of jerks, or a another case of a hate crime.) But I'll post examples in future journals.

The format might have changed in the C/P

When I was six years old, a classmate told me about a man and a man kissing. I immediately did not believe her because it was the first I ever heard of the existence of homosexuality. As I grew, I slowly began to learn of the world. When homosexuality became a fact, I was still I little curious about it as it was a new topic for me. When I reached the age of thirteen, back when I knew everything about the world, I learned Gay marriage was illegal. I was shocked by this, and I started to ask questions. I thought Gay people should have just as much rights as any other heterosexual man or female!
I went to my father and asked him what he thought. “Being Gay is a choice,” he said. “It is just a way for two men to ‘have sexual intercourse’ with each other every day.”
I was a little thrown back by my father’s rude answer so I went to my mother and asked her the same thing. She said, “A Gay person has just as much right as a straight person. Why should anyone be punished by a single view of the bible?”
And in my very own classroom, I asked my friend Steven of his thoughts. “There is no need for gay marriage. I heard it was mental, but I know it can be a choice. It goes both ways.”
Then I realized something. This was supposed to be America, the home of the free! “Freedom of religion and freedom from religion should be enough to allow gay marriage.” (Bidstrup.com) this was no longer a personal opinion, but a civil rights matter. I remember being taught for years about the struggle for freedom from slavery and women having rights to vote and how there were those who justified these injustices by waving about a vague quote from the bible and false facts of science.
Richard Lynn, emeritus professor of psychology at Ulster University, who has caused outrage in the past with claims that white people are more intelligent than blacks and those criminal traits. He will also argue that men have larger brains and higher IQs than women, to such an extent that they are better suited to 'tasks of high complexity' Now we all know that is a lie, and not only a lie but a racist and insulting one at that.
The connection is that similar lies are spreading around Gay people, and for the same reason; Fear of change. ‘Stand next to a homo, and you will get AIDS!’ ‘Gay people are not even human!’ ‘God hates them, so it’s OKAY to hurt them’. Luckily, were are not as close minded now as we were then, but the fact remains that gay people are not treated the same.
Today’s arguments against gay marriage are becoming desperate and unreasonable. For example, “Same sex marriage would lead to legalized incest, bestial marriage, polygamy” (Bidstrup.com) did you know that other countries allows gay marriages? Why haven’t they gone down this horrible path? I’ll tell you; it’s all a ruse; more propaganda for those who are afraid of change.
The only possible valid argument is for the fears of madrigal scams. “If two same-sexed straight people get married, they both get to reap the financial benefits.” (Answers.com) this can be bad, especially with our currently hurt economy. Of course, there is nothing stopping a gay man and a lesbian to get married and do the same exact thing.
Gay marriage can actually be good for America if you think about it! Two men cannot have babies on their own, so they are left with other options. One of then is adoption. It is common knowledge that children are sent to poorly funded and understaffed establishments every day, and the foster homes are sometimes so crowded, the child must keep moving from home to home. Some get so frustrated, that they just run from the whole system and live on the streets. The main problem for this is that everyone wants a baby to adopt, so the children are left alone. More married couples adopting could eliminate the problem and make the lives for next generation all the less traumatizing. Gay couples currently can not adopt children as easily as their straight counterpart; and they have to go through a difficult two step process.
In conclusion, gay marriage should be allowed. So what if it is against the mainstream idea of marriage? So what if religious figure head disagree with the whole topic? This is America, not a communist country. We should have our rights and use them too. Marriage is to be based on love, not appearance.
THE END
