I'm so sick & tired of people being so judgmental & brutal when it comes to their opinions on other woman's choices during childbirth.
I can't for the life of me figure out why any woman would feel as though she is entitled to tell another woman what is best for her and/or her `child. Every woman is different.
For instance:
Women who are against using an epidural during labor. That's fine, don't use one. But don't be condescending to those who did use one or plan to use one. Just because you found it to be more "real" doesn't make it the best option for another mother. It is no less real without the pain. In fact, it's less stressful on the mother and may help to make the process of delivering the child into the world a more beautiful and comfortable experience for all involved. In my opinion, it doesn't afford you bragging rights or martyrdom. If epidurals were THAT dangerous for the mother or baby, it wouldn't be an option they offer, now would it? It can be dangerous, and I know someone who was allergic to it, but if the woman wants to assume the risk, who's to tell her she can't/shouldn't? I'm certain doctors who deliver babies on a regular basis would know what is better for a person than some random woman who has experienced the process only a few times at most.
Also.
C-Sections.
As, again, it is that woman's body & that woman's child, the doctor would be the only person who could give an educated opinion on the issue. It's a mother's body, and therefore, the mother's choice. Unless the procedure would cause unnecessary harm to the fetus, does it really matter? And if that were the case, most doctors, if not all doctors, wouldn't allow it to be an elective procedure.
Also, if you're not a doctor, don't put down other woman's doctors because your uneducated, or less educated opinion differs. It's ******** irritating, and I don't appreciate it a bit.
