Oh, the insanity! ...or something. I write in my journal about whatever's on my mind at the moment. Sometimes it's funny, sometimes it's angsty. I can't garantee you'll like it 'cause I probably don't know you.

Convention. Bookstore. (cross-posted from my online journal)
Tess showed me a thing for a con in Pasedena, CA (wtf, cons? why must the good ones be so far away?) that a lot of people will be attending..including Adam Baldwin. The tickets are expensive and then there's hotel, gas, plane fares...but I'm so wanting to go. David said if we can get the money in time (it's in March), we can do it for my trip to see him this Spring. So, now I'm trying like hell to get a job to save up money. I want to go to this thing so ******** bad, though.

I filled out an application for World Market tonight. I'll take it back there tomorrow and get an application for Waldenbooks, too. I'm going to try and get a job anywhere..even if I have to work at..gyah..Wal*Mart. I need money..so bad.

Hehe..I'll take donations for the Send Jynk to Molest Adam Baldwin Fund if anyone wants to give. XD

Oh, man..my day today..so great. The only thing is..I wish I'd talked more to this guy at the bookstore. He was six-foot-something, had a goatee, brown or dark green eyes, muscular, and wearing jeans, work boots, a black cowboy hat, and a black t-shirt that was so tight it might as well had been painted on....err, not that I was really looking at him much. mad

I was sitting on the floor in the poetry section, checking out some Allen Ginsberg books..and this workboot comes into my field of vision and I looked up and there's this guy there..so I apologized and moved out of the way..but he's all "no, you're okay." and I commented about how books are so expensive..'cause there was this $6 book that was skinnier than the tv guide...and he kinda chuckled (oh, his laugh...) and agreed and said they probably didn't have the poet he was looking for..so i asked who it was and he said Baxter Black..so, I helped him look..but we didn't find it..and then he said, "well, maybe it's in humour" and looked around..and I pointed in the direction of the humour section and he thanked me and walked off...and I was about to walk over and ask if he wanted help looking, but saw my grandmother and ended up showing her the Ginsberg book I'd been looking at instead.

I wish I had at least asked if he wanted help looking for the book he wanted. How many big, handsome, friendly (!!!) guys read poetry, eh? I mean, I looked up at him and figured he was in the wrong section 'cause he looked more like he'd be reading a book on Texas history or a Western..and he wanted poetry. That's hot in my books. *le sigh* I should've talked to him more. Darn my shyness. u.u

I really do need to know more people in this town. I love my monkey and all, but I think if I got out more, I'd be okay talking to people more. Sadly, for every person like Tess and the nice guy at the bookstore, there's a hundred assholes in this city..and people wonder why I prefer to just be a recluse. Still..I wish I'd talked to the guy. Might've been nice to have a new friend. I'm definately going to look up who Baxter Black is. My interest is piqued by the cowboy that reads poetry.

Petshop
The Moos have been really taking up a lot of my time lately. I can see why I put it off for so long to work on other projects. It's good to be working on them again, though, but I'm worried that working on them will have me neglecting things again...like my writing and art on the real-life front..and rp around Gaia and elsewhere. As it is, I haven't been around my favourite messageboard in awhile, but it's not like there's much to talk about there right now anyway.

I still have to come up with the items for the inventory for the Moos that were awarded prizes and for Sian ('cause I took so freaking long to make her custom). I'm honestly not sure what sort of items to make. I don't really want to have to do something that I need to edit the art for, but at the same time, I want something the Moos can actually hold if they want to..or use for RP purposes. I thought about giving little stones to some of the winners that make their Moos glow in the colour of the stone (and let them choose the colour) since it would be something easy to do. I also think maybe an item like earrings or a necklace (choice of the two) would be doable. I'll have to think on this more, I guess.

There's also the issue of the Daemons shop that Zoe wants to open with me. It should be pretty simple because I'm not having to run it, but I still have at least three more pieces of lineart to do for it..and I'll be doing some colouring as well. I like the Daemons, actually. They're template pets, but they're interesting enough. I can probably edit the lineart easily for items (like I did with my Kenyon to give him jewelery) or add wings of some kind. I'll have to work more on them once I'm caught up on the Moos.

Which reminds me, I need to grow a few of them up.

Also, I've included a picture of Kenyon:

Books
Because I was asked about the books I was reading in my last entry...

I enjoyed Animal Farm tremendously, but was saddened by the end of the story. It's a good story of morals, but really..nothing is accomplished in the book. It pretty much goes full-circle.

As for Dancing Barefoot, it's a supplementary book to Just A Geek. both books are by Wil Wheaton (look his name up on IMDB sometime) and are very good. He talks mostly about his acting and Star Trek: the Next Generation, but you don't have to be a fan of the show to get what he's talking about. It's sort of an autobiography and a lot of satirical behind-the-scene stuff.

Now I'm reading 1984. I haven't gotten very far in it yet since my grandmother "borrowed" if from me (translation: she swiped it, yo) and wants to read it first. I'm also thinking of looking for some pulp noir books out by Hard Case publishing.

I'm not a bookworm, but I do enjoy reading vinatage books. They're better than a lot of the writers out there today.

Next post...maybe I'll write about music.

Fun at the Doctor's Office
I finished Animal Farm the other night and didn't get around to Dancing Barefoot till this morning since I had to wait at the doctor's office for my granny 'cause she had an appointment. So three hours later, I'm about half-way through it. It's not a long book and has large print. It's still cute, though.

Also, at the doctor's office, the news was on. They have it on Fox News all the time. Anyhow, apparently some bank in Florida got robbed and there was a police chase...I think. See, the first time they showed this "chase," it was a cop car and the reporter was all "I think the robbers stole the cop car as their getaway vehicle." Immediately me, the old lady next to me (she was knitting n__n), and this guy sitting across from me all start to cheer. If the robbers managed to get themselves a cop car as their ride, more power to them. Then the reporter starts saying, "We think the police car is actually chasing the getaway vehicle." and the helicopter is looking for it..and there doesn't seem to be a car. The old lady asks me, "which one is it?" and I tell her, "I think the helicopter's on the wrong side of town." Then the picture's back in the studio with the anchorman going "o_O? Err...we're not sure what's going on there." Then the helicopter camera footage is back on a black sedan-looking car and the reporter starts saying that's the getaway vehicle...but there was no sign of the previous police car. Again, we start cheering and the guy looks at me and says, "I guess you were right about the cop car being across town." and the old lady's all, "This is like the OJ chase." and the guy's all, "only faster." and I pipe in with, "and suckier cars." Sadly, my granny came out at this time, so I no longer got to watch the "What Car Is It?" segment...but the old lady and the guy were still cheering the robbers on...even if we had no idea what car it was.
