each night, i would go up the hill and lie awake beneath the endless sky...
the moon would smile and sway to the beat as the stars dance with the cricket's song. everything seemed to be in place...
i envied them.
but there was a star over at the far eastern side. she shone very brightly and nothing could compare to her radiant magnificence .
i was alone... she was alone... so i called her FRIEND.
i knew her... she knew me... and soon after, we both knew what's best for each other.
when all else seemed to fail... i would call out to her and she would shine brighter for me.
during the daytime, the great sun takes the place of the gentle moon and all the other stars would then go to sleep... i know she remained there, shining brighter as always with hope that i'll see her.
there came a time when i fell asleep on the cold hill, tossing and turning... she shone even brighter once more to heat me up.
she shone brighter, BRIGHTER and even more every time we were together...
...
one night, i saw a star cross the clear sky, flickering... dying.
it passed me overhead and i knew... it was her, beginning to fall out from her place...
"time has come for me to go, though i'll stay just so you know. in your heart i'll always be, friends forever you and me. grateful for the joy it brings, many thanks for all the things. a wish from me you’ll receive, doubt me not and just believe." (wahaha,,, pilit ang part na to! sorry.)
helplessly, she gave out the last light she could... just to say her final goodbye.
and she was gone... all that's left was a FALLING STAR.
i forced myself not to cry... just long enough for her to not see... but when i closed my eyes, tears rolled slowly down my cheeks.
i will never forget her sacrifice just to make me happy...
but then i thought...
she lied...
wishes from falling stars don't always come true.
....
if they did, why wasn't mine granted?
my friend, from the beginning, my wish was you never leaving me alone ever again.
....
do you still want to catch a falling star...?
