The murder of our friends and employees happened at the same time the wall of Berlin was falling, 1989, which preluded the end of the cold war. How mysterious and scary history can be. Nowadays cold war is being fought against another enemy: a terrorism so extended and difuse that, at the same time, can be inside and outside. This cold war has turned into a "hot war" prolonged by time and in new spaces. We know and we are seeing that wars and vengeances often turn in crimes against humanity or in state terrorism.
After the Terrorist acts of September 11 in NY and Washington, we are worried the militarized response that the biggest world power and its allies are using as retaliation. Such barbarism is described by the Human Rights commissioner of the UN Mary Robinson, from the place of the facts: "Bombings have to stop so we can attend 7 million people that are in danger...cold and snow are going to leave many zones inaccessible for taking food to thousands of people."
Looking at all those cries who are raising to heaven (<---possible error while translating), I have found really opportune to read "The suffering servant", reading it in plural.
"As many were astonished at themĀ
Their appearance was so marred, beyond human semblance,
and Their form beyond that of the sons of men.
But they were wounded for our transgressions,
They were bruised for our iniquities;
upon Them was the chastisement that made us whole,
and with Their stripes we are healed."
We cannot look at history only from the terror and the panic of the first world, but from the fear and distresses of our third world
