Been to the movies lately? Seen those signs telling you not to pirate movies? Well it still happens no matter how colorful the signs are. Pirating used to be based on the ocean, where people would steel items of value from un-suspecting islanders. Now these pirates killed. They generally would kill anyone they needed too. After those pirates died out, new pirates emerged in new york. The dreadful people mainly foucused on selling in china town. China Town is a well know tourist spot in New York, but the police patrol is poor. So when there is no cops around, people set up "pirate" shops. Or shops of pirated movies, and fake goods. The term pirated movies generally means "movies filmed in the theaters, put in cases and made to look real". The fake goods would generally consist of things origanally exspensive, or popular. Such as walkmen, purses, or anything of that nature.
Now, we aren't saying their still weren't pirates around that actually stole, but didnt use boats, there were. They would generally keep stolen goods in the backroom. Or anything that's real and attained in illegal manners. Then suddenly people were introduced to the internet. Pirates jumped for joy as this made pirating MUCH easier. Programs came along that allowed poeple to illegaly download movies, and music for free. The pirating of software was also included in this. Adobe was an initial target for this type. They have very good software indeed. But getting off that subject, and back to the internet pirates. The programs used to download the goods illeaglally were called bittorrents. When ge4tting them you were probably gonna get viruses that would end you business, so it all ends up bad for the pirater, but anyways. These pirates would make websites, disgiused on what they were about by the names, grafics, and contents, would have places to download the goods. But if you weren't in the mood of breaking the law, you could join their forums.
Their forums still contained illeagal content, such as warez (selling or downloading software illeagaly) and so on. On these forums they would generally be stupid. The would be noobs, and stuff. Then they made smilies and stuff, and made a pirate smilie, thus the pirate smilie was invented, soon afterwords every pirate died due to a curse of using that emoticon.
