Kawarimi No Jutsu (Body Switch Technique) Description: A common jutsu - used to quickly replace a body with a close by object. This creates a confusion among the opponent(s) while creating a chance to escape, or return with a larger strike. Kawarimi is useful for avoiding attacks, and hiding from potential enemies. •Kugutsu no jutsu (puppetry technique) Description: Kugutsu no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique that allows a ninja to use a puppet to attack from afar. Using their body's chakra, the ninja emits strings of chakra that run from their fingers to the puppet. The puppet itself can be loaded with many weapons and tools, allowing the puppet master to remain hidden while the puppet moves and attacks the target.
Kugutsu Hensou (Puppet Disguise) Description Though it only lasts for five posts you may transform your puppet into something just like how the henge jutsu works for the human. If you will turn the puppet into a object like a sword and actually use that "sword" it will feel like the puppet though if the puppet had a sword then it will feel like the puppet.
Kugutsu Fukuwajutsu (Puppet Ventriloquism) Description: This jutsu allows you to use the mouth of the puppet to actually speak, this may be used to confuse your opponent if you are hiding or to hide and deliver a message.
• Kinobori no Jutsu (Tree Walking Technique)/Kabenobori no Jutsu (Wall Walking Technique) Description: By focusing chakra into the feet and keeping it balanced, the user can walk up against vertical objects and cling to its surface.
• Suimen Hokou no Gyou (The Art of Water Walking) Prerequisites: Kinobori no Jutsu Description: A technique that enables the user to walk on the surface of water by concentrating chakra into the feet. • MIst Vision Technique- allows the user to enhance their eyes to see through mist.
Invisible strings Description: By learning to suppress the chakra in the chakra strings you make it invisible. This is useful if you are trying to make a puppet attack from behind or attach your string onto your opponent. The sharingan and Byakugan eye can easily detect this and it only lasts 5 posts.
Senju Soubu (Thousand Hands Manipulation Military Art) Description: After preforming the correct seals the puppeteer extend his/her puppets arm. The arm will form a seal on it and out of that seal more arms will burst out and try to punch or grab the target.
•Souzou Dokubutsu (Poison Creation) Requirements: Summon Medical Tools Description: Just as there are many naturally occurring substances that can be combined in order to heal, there are many naturally occurring substances that can be used to harm. Using their knowledge of plants and minerals a medical-nin is able to mix together a variety of drugs and poisons that can range from disabling to deadly. It is not always the case however that it is used to harm. This skill is required to create anesthetics and other drugs required to treat patients. Chuunin are able to create poisons that can be ingested or used to coat sharp objects but more advanced poisons such as skin contact poisons require a Jounin.
Summon Medical Tools Requirements: Scroll Description: This technique allows a medical-nin to summon some of the tools of their trade. It is not practical to carry around mortar, pestle, and other tools but a scroll that can be used to summon these and other similar objects is both practical and convenient. A higher ranking ninja can use this technique to summon more specialized and advanced tools for poison creation and ninja medicine creation but at this level it is only good for medicine creation.

The cloud clears a distance between the ninja and their enemy, as not to capture the ninja himself within its area of effect. Any enemy caught within its area of effect will succumb to the poison’s effects.

• Summoning Marrionet theater- User can summon a massive colloseum around himself and all opponents in a 20 meter radius. Inside this structure are litterally 100 puppets. within this space the summoning acts like a battle collusem restricting escape from the puppet assualt. Lasts 10 posts or until all puppets are dead. • Tinker toy apocalypse Rank of Jutsu: SS Do you want you Jutsu added to the Guild List: Sure, why not. Description: Only usable when one has become a human puppet. This skill uses similar technique to performance of a hundred puppets. However instead of full sized puppets the user uses common moddeling dolls used in workshops and galleries. These dolls are small allowing for almost ten times as many to be produced and manipulated. These little dolls are tiny and quiet able to be moved around and used to subverge and hide anywhere. what makes this jutsu fierce is that once these dolls are scattered and positioned, they are all equipped with tiny paperbombs which make a pretty flashy disaster when about a thousand of these tiny guys go off all over a large area.

• Water Tomoe (S) Once all of the water techniques have been learned in their entirety, the water tomoe allows for the user to create large bodies of water from seemingly nowhere within five feet of the user. It cannot appear within five meters of the opponent.
*Kirigakure no Jutsu (Hidden Mist Technique) Description: A highly effective cover technique which blankets an area in a thick mist, confusing the senses of the enemy. Unless the user is trained to fight without the use of his vision, or has learned the technique to see through the mist, this doesn't not provide a significant combat advantage. The mist swirls about, confusing vision and distorting sound. Visibility is cut down to three feet. The mist lasts for 3 posts, plus an additional post for every 10 points in Reserves the user has. It is important to note that this mist is non-natural, and obstructs the view of even those using low level techniques (stage 3 or lower) to attempt to see through it.
Kirigakure: Shunshin no Jutsu (Hidden Mist: Instantaneous Body Skill) Description: An ability which allows the user to transport from one area to another in a spray of fine mist. The user has to have been to the area before and the distance is limited to about one mile. This jutsu can only be used to escape combat, and may not be used if the shinobi is attacking or has been attacked.
• Wind Tomoe (S) The first stage is the wind tomoe usually gained before the other two. It is gained when the user becomes one with the wind allowing almost any wind technique to be created instantaneously.

• Ice Tomoe (S) The most powerful part of the abilities gained only by a master of this bloodline. In addition to being cold enough to freeze water to the touch, the ice tomoe now makes all ice techniques deadly and dangerous. The user will emit a cold aura around himself at five meters that is so cold it lowers the speed of any nearby enemy ninja by a rank. In addition, within five feet of any ice jutsu the same occurs. Water jutsu and wind jutsu is kissed by the users cold chakra, giving anyone who is touched frost bite, causing extreme pain until healed.
• Reido [Freezing Point] E Description: The very foundation upon which all Hyoton is based upon. By using chakra to manipulate water and wind, a hyoton user is able to freeze an available water source which can then be used for Ice or Snow based Ninjutsu. Hyoton users are able to use this ability to freeze moisture found within the enviroment in order to create ice in any situation as long as moisture is present. This jutsu is required for the rest of the techniques in this tree.
• Ice Manipulation: Barrier E-S Description: By quickly creating an ice barrier out of the moisture in the air or by nearby water, the user is capable of defending against jutsus its rank and below. Katon jutsus must be two ranks higher to destroy. This manipulation is almost instant, taking very little time to form to protect the user.
• Reinigiri [Zero Grip] E Description: By forcing chakra onto the their feet, the shinobi is able to walk atop of snow with ease and move around on Ice with no problem whatsoever. This jutsu is mandatory for most shinobi as it allows them to be a master of their element and enviroment.
• Koori Waku No Jutsu [Ice Slide Technique] D Description: A usefull technique for dodging or manuevering around upon the battlefield. As long as their is a small amount of water located near or around the users feet they are able to force chakra through their feet and instantly freeze the moisture and use it as a slide of sorts. This technique makes the water stretch out and create ice for the user to slide upon as long as their is sufficient amount of moisture. This jutsu can be used to avoid oncoming techniques and attacks, or just for moving quicker than one is normally able to run. +1 to Speed while using this skill.
• Shikki Kansei No Jutsu [Moisture Trap Technique] D Description: A jutsu that can be used in a variety of situations. By manipulating some sort of moisture [Whether that be spit, water, etc] by focusing chakra into it before it is thrown, the user is able to make the moisture freeze upon contact with human skin. This jutsu is mostly used to trap an opponent or his body parts in a shell of ice. The ice can be broken by most regular means but can be very annoying to deal with when multiple portions of the opponent are frozen.
• Retsu Kaze No Jutsu [Cold Breeze Technique] D Description: By using a source of water and throwing it into the air [or just the moisture in the air itself if Chuunin/Jounin] the user is able to force the moisture to spin around and form a very cold and harsh breeze to swirl around the user, extending forth from the user for about twenty feet. This wind seems to bite the skin and if one is not used to a very cold climate, they could find themselves in trouble. The particles of ice within the air also tear at exposed skin, causing minor cuts.
• Hyouga Bunshin No Jutsu [Glacier Bunshin Technique] D Description: A clone formed entirely out of ice. This bunshin is formed of compacted and very dense ice. The result of the compact ice is a clone that is very hard to destroy and is fully capable of combat, being able to use a single chuunin ranked jutsu. Where most clones are only able to take one or two hits, the Hyouga bunshin is able to withstand multiple blows, with the ice chipping away as each attack lands. This bunshin resists up to B Rank Katon jutsus.
• Koorikoku [Ice Carving] D Description: Forcing chakra into ice the user is able to carve the ice into any item they can think of making. The only restriction of this jutsu is that they must have an equal amount of ice in order to carve out the item/weapon they wish to create.
• Hyouga Kassha No Jutsu [Glacier Block Technique] C Description: By freezing a moderate amount of ice the user is able to create a ten foot tall and ten feet wide block of ice. The block by itself is very hard and can withstand various attacks. By using the small amount of wet ice near the bottom of the block the user is able to move the block towards the enemy or position it so that it can withstand a fair amount of damage.
• Hyougatama [Ice Sphere] C Description: By placing a moderate amount of water between their hands, the user begins to condense the water into a super cooled state while it still remains as a liquid. This ball can then be thrown by utilizing chakra and should it strike the opponent he or she would be entirely encased in a hard layer of ice. It should be noted that if the opponent is not freed quickly enough then he would pass out from lack of oxygen.
• Hyougai no Jutsu (Frozen Armor) C Description: By covering their entire body in moisture the user is able to freeze this moisture to the point where it becomes extremely hard but somewhat flexible armor. This armor can withstand up to three attacks that are Genin level and only one Chuunin level attack. While the body looks encased in hard ice, the user is able to move around and perform feats like he would normally be able too regardless of how the ice looks.
• Koori Tsubame No Jutsu [Ice Swallow Technique] C Description: By manipulating the moisture in the atmosphere the user is able to form a rather large group of sharpened kunai shaped icicles. These icicles can be aimed in a general direction and are able to curve around some obstacles like trees and buildings. Once the direction has been decided and these projectiles are sent they are unable to be stopped and may only curve around something once. If these projectiles hit an opponent they will create a patch of ice upon the point of contact, freezing a limb in place if struck in the right area.
• Hisame [Hail] C Description: A very deadly jutsu that involves manipulating the atmosphere above an opponent. Unknown to the target, moisture above them begins to form into somewhat large and sharp spears. These spears then descend down upon the opponent in a large hail of sharpened ice weaponry.
• Akakoori [Red Ice] C Description: A useful jutsu for when a shinobi has been infected with a certain type of poison or other chemical substance. By creating a somewhat small wound upon their hand, the user is able to force moisture into his bloodstream which then finds its way towards the desired poison or substance and begins to drain it out in the form of a red icicle about the size of a senbon needle. This needle contains all of the poison that was within the user and can be used as a syringe of sorts to inject into another foe or just to keep.
• Hyougakage [Glacier Shadow] A Description: Starting out behind the feet of the user, two streams of ice begin to spread out from behind the user and then head towards the target. These streams act similar to Kagemane and move fairly fast. Once these streams reach a target two large hands grab onto the target and from then on the ice spreads up the opponents entire body, encasing him in ice. This ice is hardened to a nearly unbreakable level. This technique is usually used before a finishing blow.
• Hyouga Boufuu No Jutsu [Glacier Storm] A Description: By focusing a fair amount of chakra into the atmosphere while beginning the spin ones body, the user is able to create an extremely large blizzard in the remote area. This blizzard spans for about thirty meters and turns the visible conditions into nothing but a haze. In addition to this, anyone caught within the jutsu will suffer severe slashes as the ice particles in the air are about the size of senbon. Combined with the rapid spinning of the wind, this can shred into skin fairly easily. The user is protected from these effects by being in the middle of the storm itself.
• Kaizen Hyougai No Jutsu [Improved Glacier Armor] A Description: By covering their entire body in moisture the user is able to freeze this moisture to the point where it becomes extremely hard but somewhat flexible armor. This improved version of the Glacier Armor allows the user to withstand up to three jutsus of its rank and one jutsu of a rank higher. While the body looks encased in hard ice, the user is able to move around and perform feats like he would normally be able too regardless of how the ice looks. This armor lasts for two posts.
• Touketsu Ijin [Frozen Devil] A Description: A jutsu that requires a moderate amount of chakra and is a variation on a bunshin technique. By forcing chakra into ice, a large demon comparable to the size of a large Snake summon emerges forth from the element of choice. This large demon is very intimidating looking and is a very hard foe to defeat, only succumbing to S Rank level techniques. When defeated the large devil will explode with the force of an exploding tag while sending shards of sharp ice in all directions as it leaves this mortal coil.
• Hyougadangan [Glacier Shot] A Description: A very deadly jutsu that was invented by the most recent Hyougakage. This jutsu can only be used twice per thread and has been forbidden to use against anyone but an intended target or enemy. Never a sparring opponent or anything similar. By focusing pressure and ice together, two orbs of supercooled water are formed near the users head and are shot towards a target with extreme force. These jets of water have the brute force similar to a Decaying Fist user and are able to cut through Rock and steel with ease. These streams cannot change direction once they are fired and if they make contact with the opponent without killing him, the supercooled water freezes instantly trapping the opponent in an unbreakable cocoon of ice.
• Makyou Hyoushou (Demonic Ice Crystal Mirrors) A Description: The user can create a dome of twenty-one mirrors made out of ice to trap an opponent. Twelve remain at ground level, eight are placed above the first twelve and angled toward the ground, and the final mirror is above the rest and facing the ground. The user can then enter one of the mirrors and instantly transport to another mirror. If the mirror the user is in is broken, he can leap out of one of the fragments and continue his attack or move to another mirror. The mirrors are able to resist fire techniques almost completely. For every turn that the mirrors are used, subtract 10 chakra points.
• [Freezing Wind] A Description: After performing the needed hand signs the user inhales the moisture in the air.They then exhale Creating a white cloud surrounding 100 feet in front of the user. The cloud contains bits of ice and water. If the victim is trapped in the cloud the bits of ice will latch on to them making it hard to move. When the bit of ice have hit the opponent the user snaps his fingers creating a flash freeze with in the cloud. When the cloud disappears the area is a frozen wasteland. The victim can not break out of the ice seeing as the are in a hibernative state making it the perfect jutsu for retrieval missions.
• Reinami [Zero Wave] S Description: This jutsu that requires a large water source. By supercooling water to the point where it can freeze nearly anything it touches, the shinobi gets behind the source of water he intends to create and sends forth a giant tsunami of supercooled water towards whatever he intends to attack. The wave causes great destruction, such a level that it could easily defeat an entire army of shinobi. When the wave finally crashes down it instantly freezes into a giant lake of ice, trapping anything and everything caught up within it beneath the ice.
• Raikou Koori No Jutsu [Lightning Ice Technique] S Description: Forming a highly intensified ball of water infront of their hand, the Snow-nin begins to compact the ice into a perfectly formed icicle about the length of a kunai. When the kunai is formed the supercooled water behind it releases all of its pressure behind the kunai sending it at a speed so fast that it cannot be seen. The result of this pressure being released is a loud sonic boom. This kunai can travel for about four miles before it is stopped completely and cannot be redirected once fired. Needless to say that anything caught in it's path will be most unfortunate.
• Reido Bunshin [Zero Clone] S Description: The ultimate clone technique. Power, finesse and chakra control are focused into this ultimate fighting clone. The clone is not solid anywhere but the very exterior of itself. This clone has a pool of 40 chakra and is capable of using all of the users jutsus. The plus side to this clone is that if anything touches the clone it will be frozen immediately due to the supercooled water it is created from.
• Makyō Hyō Satsu (Demonic Mirror Ice Murder) SS Description: After the victim is trapped in the user's Demonic Ice Mirrors, the mirrors will explode, damaging all inside while the user, using his speed to get away at the last instant, remains safely outside of the blast. The explosion is leveled S rank but does not affect anyone outside the mirrors. Also note that shards of the mirrors are spread throughout the entire battlefield. This can be used on other ice jutsu, but is much better with the demonic crystal ice mirrors.
• Blue Flame S This is not a type of fire, but rather a jutsu that is so cold it technically burns. The freezing flame is frozen and burning at about -120 degrees.
Snow Jutsu~~
D-rank - Yukikumo no Jutsu; Snow Cloud Technique. -- A jutsu that normally wouldn't possess much use unless a snow element shinobi finds himself outside of a tundra territory. By condensing moisture and freezing it above the battlefield the Snow-nin can cause large snow clouds to appear and pour down large amounts of snow for the ninja himself to utilize in whatever way one can think of. Another affect of this jutsu is that the amount of snowfall can reduce vision similar to that of a regular smoke bomb.
- Yuki Shuriken no Jutsu; Snow Shuriken Technique. -- This jutsu allows a shinobi to compact snow into the form of shurikens, their abilities are exactly similar to regular shuriken. This jutsu can be used in multiple ways but requires chakra to throw the shuriken themselves if the shinobi chooses not to throw them with his own hands.
- Yuki Koutai no Jutsu; Snow Shift Technique. -- By placing an item on top of a pile of snow, the user is able to force chakra into the item itself and cause the snow to shift positions. This jutsu can allow one to move an item from one spot to another in an instant as long as there is snow between where he put the item down and where he wishes it to reappear. The maximum distance for this jutsu is about fifteen meters.
- Yuki Kishu no Jutsu; Snow Rider Technique. -- By standing atop of a patch of snow, the Snow-nin is able to fashion himself a very maneuverable and swift vehicle of sorts. Using the snow as leverage the shinobi can force the snow to move in any direction he wants, making moving around much easier as the snow moves faster than the shinobi is able to run. This snow cannot move anywhere where there was is no snow.
B-rank
- Kantaite no Jutsu; Frigid Hand Technique. -- When an opponent is standing near or around a batch of Snow, this jutsu can be used. Forcing chakra into the nearby Snow, a large hand is able to extend to upwards of fifty feet. Once this hand makes contact with an opponent or object it completely surrounds the opponent in compact snow. This snow cannot be broken out of unless the shinobi possesses a Jounin level Taijutsu attack or Stage or an equally powerful fire attack. Normally avoiding this somewhat large and bulky hand is ones best option.
- Yukinami no Jutsu; Snow Wave Technique. -- By slamming their fists into the ground a Snow-nin is able to make a somewhat large wave of Snow rise into the air and proceed in the direction they have aimed their fists towards. This wave of Snow is ten metres high and ten metres wide. It is able to block most oncoming Taijutsu and projectiles and is able to sweep up anyone and anything within its path before burying them in the moderate amount of snow. This jutsu is useful for clearing a path of any obstacles or burying your opponent.
- Gekido Sekkei no Jutus; Raging Snowstorm Technique. -- By using the moisture in the atmosphere the user begins to make snow fall forth into the ground. Shortly after the large amount of snow begins to fall the wind picks up and begins to spin this snow into a very large and deadly blizzard. This blizzard is about fifteen metres in length and due to chakra compacting the snow even further the flakes of snow are able to slice into the skins causing damage equal to about a cut from a senbon. While this normally isn't very dangerous when stuck within the storm itself this can be very dangerous. Due to the user being in the eye of the storm he is unaffected but cannot move. The winds also help redirect projectiles.
A-rank - Yukitama Renda no Jutsu; Snowball Barrage Technique. -- By compacting snow into a group of twenty small snowballs, the user is able to freeze them into a very dense state. Once this is performed the user is able to send this snowballs in a barrage towards any target they desire but once they are launched their direction cannot be changed. These snowballs each exploding with the power of an exploding tag. Usually this technique is used in a mortar sort of offensive, more useful in long range combat than upclose.
Hyotan Abilities:
xxxxPASSIVE ABILITIES • Areas with no moisture in the area no longer works against the user since the user is capable of creating moisture in the area by just being in it. • Ice is now only melted by katon three ranks higher, and only by demon fire of one rank higher. • Ice manipulation to an extent of their rank, can even manipulate snow jutsus sent towards the user if the jutsu is below the users rank in order to halt the attack. Given the snow sub-element in addition to other sub elements. • Ice can be formed seamlessly and extremely fast. • Enhanced perception nearly to the point of prediction along with a very quick reaction time. At higher ranks, this perception can even rival the sharingan • +50 Chakra • If in authentic snow the wielder gains +1 base speed.

Yurei
xxxxxDESCRIPTION
The Yurei are not invisible, but they can certainly seem like they are at times. The problem in seeing them doesn’t lie in the eyes so much as it does in the mind. The Yurei have trained to minimize all noticeable signs of their existence. It’s very easy for the unalert eyes to simply slide past a Yurei, the eyes catching the existence of the Yurei but the mind not bothering to register it. Even those who do notice a Yurei often forget the face of the particular clan member within a day or two. The simplicity of the way those of the Yurei clan hide themselves not only reduces the chakra needed to remain hidden but also nullifies any advantages doujutsus give in finding the Yurei because, as stated before, it’s not a problem of the eyes but of the mind.
However, that isn’t to say the Yurei have completely neglected the eyes. No, as a clan that epitomizes stealth, they’ve also done everything to exploit the weakness of vision and the other senses but mostly vision as that’s what most shinobi rely on. Following the ghost theme of their clan name, the Yurei have several techniques that take advantage of blind spots to seemingly vanish and suddenly reappear. Out of battle, they are masters of the mundane. In battle, they are masters of misdirection.
xxxxxRULES • Yurei techniques are all incredibly simple, at least on the chakra front. This is to ensure that hand signs are never needed and that the techniques aren’t flashy enough to attract unwanted attention. Coincidentally, this also makes all their techniques available to anyone, regardless of learning restrictions set forth by bloodlines, classes, other clans, or any other assets. • Nothing about a Yurei looks amazing, for better or for worse. In fact, they tend to be a bit shorter and skinnier than average. It’s not impossible for them to look good, but being absolutely stunning? It’s rather impossible to not attract attention in that case. Going to the other extreme, being horribly disfigured also attracts too much attention. As much as the Yurei, being a clan, relies on teachings, its emphasis on the mundane does set certain requirements that are ultimately decided by genetics. • In a situation where two Yurei meet, they can clearly see through each other’s tricks. Passive abilities do not work on fellow Yurei because they know the tricks of the trade.
xxxxxWEAKNESSES • A Yurei relies on being anonymous. Become famous and they lose everything they’ve worked for in this clan. Granted, it’s rather difficult to actually lose their anonymity with how hard they’ve worked to be unnoticed and remembered in the first place. Only by doing something of note and not having anyone to dump the credit on does a Yurei risk becoming well-known. • Out of combat or whenever Mundane is active, a Yurei has -1/-1 stats, a side-effect of appearing, even just subconsciously, unimportant. Once combat starts and Mundane is not active, the Yurei can regain these stats after the first round of posts, at which point their actions are no longer restricted by the habit of carefully controlling their actions. • A Yurei’s strength is their lack of presence, but this is also a danger to them as it affects both allies and enemies. Allies unaware of a Yurei’s position can easily hit the Yurei with accidental friendly fire. • The Yurei don’t do flashy and elemental ninjutsu epitomizes flashy. Most members of the Yurei clan do not dabble much in elemental ninjutsu (unable to learn A-rank and higher elemental ninjutsu). Those that do often, without realizing it themselves, tone down their ninjutsu (-1 rank to all elemental ninjutsu techniques). • Distractions can affect everyone, but the techniques that use a distraction to approach someone are unseen by only person at any time unless otherwise stated. Other parties can see the approach, once they get past the momentary distraction, because it’s not their blind spot that’s being taken into consideration. There’s not much time for a save, but an intercept is possible. These jutsu--Onryo, Ubume, and Funayurei specifically--are not sure-hit techniques.
xxxxxSTRENGTHS • No techniques require any sort of movement or vocal signs. After all, they’re a clan that focuses on going unnoticed. Using hand seals is hardly a good way to remain unnoticed. • You’re incredibly hard to notice and remember. Even when you have been remembered, you're still difficult to notice. • Doujutsus and any sort of vision training don’t give enemies of a Yurei any sort of advantage. If anything, it’s a disadvantage as the heightened vision granted by these upgrades are even more sensitive to a Yurei’s tricks. Likewise, those with heightened perception suffer a similar disadvantage. • Constant suppression of chakra improves the chakra control of a Yurei. This should be represented by an chakra reduction to techniques but math is annoying. For the sake of convenience, the 10% reduction has been translated to 25 additional chakra points.. • +1 perception from and for constantly keeping an eye out for blind spots.
xxxxxPASSIVE ABILITIES • Mundane: Yurei have conditioned their body to keep their presence at a constant minimum. All Yurei make no noise in their movements and release only a very faint scent, one which fades from the surfaces it touch in mere minutes. Their chakra signatures, including that of anything that happens to reside in the Yurei, have been carefully suppressed for so long that it becomes natural, making it natural for any Yurei to have their chakra hidden until the moment its used. Most importantly, however, a Yurei’s actions are trained to appear naturally normal, to be the pinnacle of mundane. A Yurei can be the only other person in the room but the other party will not notice them simply because they’re doesn’t seem to be any merit in noticing them. It is a technique based on the subconscious, one that has been refined for generations, even centuries some may say. This unconscious lack of presence is not nearly as thorough as active attempts to hide, but being an unconscious act, it has the benefit of almost always being active without any effort. The only times when this passive isn’t active, or rather can’t be, is when the Yurei has somehow slipped up and created a cause to be noticed. Most notably, this will be during combat if the Yurei is not hidden, whenever the Yurei uses chakra for anything other than clan techniques, or when the Yurei attacks directly. ↬ Against ninja one rank lower than the Yurei: In this situation, a Yurei is seen as an unimportant bystander, even more unimportant than a normal bystander. It is very easy for the eyes to slide carelessly over the Yurei. In fact, that is exactly what happens unless the viewer happens to be on alert. At most, only suspicions that an innocent stranger would arouse are directed to the phantom. When a phantom is hiding, there are no signs to give away the phantom's presence. ↬ Against ninja of the same rank as the Yurei: In this situation, a Yurei is noticed. However, the Yurei is taken to be a normal bystander, of little consequence in most cases. When a Yurei is hiding, there are no signs to give away the Yurei’s presence. ↬ Against ninja one rank higher than the Yurei: In this situation, a Yurei is noticed and taken to be a very weak threat. The Yurei’s abilities are gauged to be two or more ranks lower than their actual abilities. When a Yurei is hiding, there might be slight signs to give away the Yurei’s presence, but only if the Yurei moves. ↬ Against ninja two ranks higher than the Yurei: In this situation, the opposing ninja sees the Yurei for exactly what they are.
• Forgettable: It’s hard to remember a Yurei. Almost impossible, in fact. Yurei naturally remain in the background. They may speak, but whatever they say is eclipsed by the words of others. They may act, but because they never seem like the main actor, another will be given the credit. Even with a name and a face, the face is bound to be forgotten after a good night’s sleep, and without a face to go to, what importance is a name? The only way to really remember a Yurei is to meet them constantly.
• Poltergeist: Those of the Yurei clan are masters of blind spots. While taking advantage of blind spots to hide their entire bodies usually requires the help of chakra, small things like hand tricks are child’s play to any Yurei who’s graduated from the academy. If any Yureit wanted to risk the attention, they would make a master magician.
• Misdirection: The Yurei directs the attention of enemies (and allies if that’s what’s wanted) to anything that is not them for a small moment. This can be anything from tossing an important object into the air to throwing kunai into the faces of everyone to throwing a kunai at a cat and getting it to yowl horribly. With the Yurei’s knowledge of how the mind decides what’s important, the distraction is guaranteed to work for at least one technique against people of the same rank and below. However, overuse renders this skill useless and Misdirection can only be used once every five posts. Multiple people can be affected with one usage of this jutsu. It just might change some aspects of the execution, like the number of projectiles thrown.
xxxxxTECHNIQUES
• Misdirection D This is an alternative to the passive ability of the same name that uses chakra to seal the deal. A small bit of chakra is applied to the distraction to create any number of attention-drawing effects, such as a vision-obscuring glow of light on a projectile headed for a face or a attention-grabbing sparkle on an important object being tossed into the air. This Misdirection shares the same cooldown as the passive, but it can be successfully used on those of higher rank than the user.
• Bakemono D Bakemono modified version of the Henge no Jutsu that, like all other clan techniques, does not require handsigns. The user, as usual, vanishes from sight with the help of blind spots and reappears transformed into whatever disguise they choose. Because chakra isn’t used to help positioning but rather used to active the Henge technique, this technique is best used in crowded places, where it’s very easy to lose the focus of an alert enemy. However, under the right circumstances, it is possible to pull off the trick without any intruders. Keep in mind, Bakemono doesn’t ensure a disappearance but rather requires it.
• Hitodama C-B The Yurei releases an explosion of chakra. Masters of remaining unnoticed, the Yurei are also experts in what attracts attention. The chakra released by Hitodama has been simply but surely modified to unerringly attract the attention of all who sense it but don’t expect it, forcing onto the unwitting the effects of tunnelvision. The chakra explosion creates an alarming flash of light, bang of sound, whoosh of force, pungent scent, sharp taste, and release of chakra. However, even with it affecting touch, this technique does no direct damage. As all of its effect last for mere moments, though, it can only hold attention for mere moments. Still, it’s a fantastic way of dealing with stuff such as a Byakugan’s pesky 360 vision. This explosion of chakra may be released at any point within 5 ft. of the user (C-rank) or within 15 ft. of the user (B-rank). The nature of this skill very much makes it a one-trick pony, technically two. It may affect anyone up to two times per battle, after which it gradually becomes less of a distraction. Of course, if it’s done right in front of someone’s face, that’s another story altogether.
• Onryo C-B The user takes advantage of a blind spot created by either a distraction or the target’s failure to notice the user and releases a sudden burst of chakra into their legs to speed their movements towards a target for a moment. To the target, it appears as if the user has suddenly teleported to them. At C-rank, the target can be anywhere within 15 ft. of the user. At B-rank, the target can be anywhere within 40 ft. of the user.
• Ubume C-B requires Onryo The Yurei takes advantage of a blind spot created by either a distraction or the target’s failure to notice the user and releases a sudden burst of chakra into their legs to speed their movements towards an ally. The separation of destination and target in Ubume is the only thing that singles it out from Onryo but that distinction makes enough of a difference in the execution of the technique. To the target, it appears as if the user has suddenly teleported to an ally. At C-rank, the ally can be anywhere within 15 ft. of the user. At B-rank, the ally can be anywhere within 40 ft. of the user. Additionally, the “ally” does not necessarily have to be an ally. It can just as easily be the last piece of pie or another enemy.
• Sorei C-B Simultaneously taking advantage of a user’s lack of presence while under the influence of Mundane and blind spots of everyone in the area, Sorei allows the user to make noticeable changes to the environment while still remaining hidden in plain sight. Again, discrete bursts of chakra are used to help with position. Sorei requires the presence of several allies or neutral parties in addition to the user to work, and the user cannot be within 10 ft. (C-rank) or 5ft. (B-rank) of the enemy. This technique doesn’t allow the user to, say, tear down a wall and remain unnoticed or even just snipe an enemy at close-range. It’s more for small things, such as moving furniture or making random noises. Attacking the enemy directly while using this technique cancels it but nothing is stopping a Yurei from, say, dropping a chandelier on a spot a target just happens to be standing on.
• Zashiki Warashi C-B It is possible, in the middle of battle, to reactivate Mundane. One post of preparation is needed. Then, taking advantage of a universal blind spot, one that all enemies have, created by a distraction, the user seems to simply vanish from sight. As always, this is with the help of a little chakra-based speed enhancement, the speed boost helping the user take full advantage of even a short moment. At C-rank, the user must be at least 10 ft. away from any enemy. At B-rank, the user can disappear from right next to the enemy.
• Funayurei B-A The Yurei runs at the target. As they approach the target, they dive in towards the target, using the angle of the duck and positioning in addition to speed to create a blind spot without any diversions even with the target’s full focus on them. Although, slight distractions, not big enough to use a more chakra-efficient ability but enough to matter, like teammates do help increase the success of the technique. This only works if the user’s speed exceeds the speed of the target. During the move, a limit-breaking +1 speed for B-rank and +2 speed for A-rank is added to the user’s speed and the target’s speed, only for the calculation of this move’s success, is lowered by -1 for each of the user’s allies in the area.
• Goryo A requires Hitodama Goryo requires that the Yurei’s Mundane passive ability is active and that the user willingly ends Mundane with a sudden release of chakra. The sheer volume of chakra, a combination of quantity and the strangeness of it just being wasted for nothing, attracts all attention to the user in a manner even more effective than Hitodama, giving the user’s allies an entire post to act while all focus is on the user.
xxxxxADDITIONAL COMMENTS • It is not impossible for Yurei to achieve ranks such as kage and shogun that would normally garner a famous reputation and still remain a functioning Yurei. However, their general lack of presence and their own desire to remain unimportant in order to maintain that lack of presence will often result in them installing a puppet leader, npc, as the face of their position rather than taking the position themselves. • While not a rule or a restriction, it should be stressed that killing with an audience is risky for a Yurei clan member as it’s rather difficult to laud the responsibility onto an ally when people have seen the Yurei land the killing blow.
xxxxxRESTRICTIONS • It should be stressed that a Yurei is able to do what they do because it has been ingrained into them. Something like a flamboyant Yurei who turns on some sort of switch to simply meld into the background doesn’t exist. They are, essentially, the wallflowers of the shinobi world and always are as such. • The necessary training and molding for a successful Yurei prevents it from being a clan that a rpc simply picks up. Any rpc with this clan must start with it.
