Okay, so I probably should have changed the title to "Spriting can be painstakingly difficult".

There's been a new ID Meme going around on deviantart. They're called "Fighting Game Sprite ID's" and they rock cocks! I decided I was going to make my own. I'm not good enough to make my very own sprite image, so I bored one from Pokemon Red/Blue. I love those 6 color pallet sprites so I messed around with them for a minutes and made my gaia avatar out of the sprite.

After several hours of filling in tiny pixels I finally crafted this guy:



It was hard as HELL getting that Prinny Squad symbol in the background! Credit for the ID image goes to Spooky Tanuki. The art was a gift for my first Gaiaversary. Thanks 'Nuki!

Anyhoo, so I'm debating on actually taking this and turning a Gaia profit out of it and making them. I'm making some banners and testing some sprites and seeing how things go. We'll see how everything turns out.

So I saved a whole bunch of sprites yesterday from Pokemon Diamond & Pearl and later on that night I started looking through them. I started kind of seeing things, like "If I tinkered with this it could totally look like 'such-n-such' from 'such-n-such'"

After messing around with them for a few hours I got these little guys:

For those of you who may not recognize any of the characters those are (again from right to left) Raidou from Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner, Main Character from SMT: Persona 3, Heat from SMT: Digital Devil Saga, and Ricochet a Marvel Comics character, currently in The Loners.

I use to play around with sprites, but I never actually did anything this nifty, and I'm just really happy with how they turned out. I don't really know what I'm going to do with this spriting business, but we'll see how it goes. I'm going to snag some more and we'll just see what happens!
