Well, my final is tomorrow~ and here I am playing on gaia. So i'll list off some words that i'm studying.

kaku - to write
sora - sky (anyone play kingdom hearts?)
toshi - year
nagai - long
nakaba - half
manabu - learn
haha - mother
chichi - father
otoko - man
onna - woman
go - noon
uchi - inside
kiku - hear/listen
ashi - foot
te - hand
kuchi - mouth
ma- eyes
kokoro - spirit
inu - dog (ever heard of inu yasha?)
moku - tree
shita - down
ue - up
yasumi - rest
oyasuminasai - goodnight
soto - outside
utau - to sing

in english, we have words inbetween our words that are hard to explain. example: "a, to, and, it" these connect words in our sentences. 'me AND my friend,' 'i'm going TO the bank" etc

Japanese has things that connect their words too. These are called Particles.

wa - shows subject

wa is a particle.

Here's a sentence:

ima wa asa desu. Right now it's morning.
desu is like a period, it ends the sentence.

ima wa yoru desu. Right now it's night. (or It's night time.)

ima wa samui desu. It's cold right now. (or Right now, it's cold.)
