American Idol
Alright, so I went to the A.I. 5 tryouts, but I didn't make it. I'll tell you alll what happened. First of all, for those of you wondering, no, I didn't meet Simon, Paula, and Randy. That wouldn't be until next week. My dad and I got there late Thursday night and got our wristbands. Unfortunatly, they had started giving out wristbands that morning so since we got there late my audition would be near the end of the day. We woke up at 5:00 am the next morning and got in line. There were already over 1000 people waiting to get into the stadium and then it started raining really hard. After about an hour of standing in the rain we finally got in and went to our seats. It was another two hours before anything happened. When someone finally came over the loud speaker they told us about the first audition. They would take us out by rows and send us down to two judges who would tell us if we were going onto the next round. They judge on appearence and voice, but they also let the bad singers through. There were 26 sections that were filled, and I was in section 20. Near the end of the day the judges were getting tired so they were just rolling people through and taking only the people who were preppy and beautiful, or if they had a gimic. When I went down I got my picutre taken for the giant monatge and then went with a group of four to two judges. We sang for them and after everyone sang they told us without hesitiation that we weren't what they were looking for. In the booth next to me I saw two tall beautiful blondes who couldn't sing a note get yellow tickets (thats what you get if you move onto the next round) I guess they are just eyecandy for some of the guys that watch the show. I went home somewhat dpressed, but my dad told me that there is another audition for A.I. somewhere else that we might be able to go to. It was supposed to be in Memphis Tenessee but it was cancelled so I have to figure it out and then we might go to that one. This time I'm getting in line really early and I'll have a gimic. I'm gonig to be Marilyn Monroe. But if I don't make that my choir teacher asked me to be in IMEA, in which I would sing with a group and be judged on my singing ability.
