I was reading that colleges are treating applications from girls far more strictly than those of boys. Why is this? Because right now the average university contains 57% females to 43% boys. The reasons for this are multiple: The universities themselves, including testimony from the male professors, admit that the female applications are generally far better than those of the males. This is said to be because girls "mature more quickly" and "have a greater ability to focus." They also say that, one admitted into the university, the girls continue to do, on average, far better than the boys. The solution is to turn away more girls and accept more boys, even when the boy's applications are worse than the girls they're turning away. They are already doing this.
What's wrong with this anyway?
The colleges feel that the uneven ratio of boys to girls is extremely negative for the institution, and say that it makes the college a less desirable choice for both boys and girls. This is a very vague statement that I cannot make sense of. And why do I choose to live in an Asylum? Because this world ******** disgusts me, and I can't live in it.
We've come a long way, baby? No, we haven't, we've barely gotten anywhere, and if you think we have, then **** you.
