Other physical details: although he is a ghost, he cannot disappear, fly, turn invisible, or pass through solid objects. He may as well be human.
Likes: Kassandra, Karma, pranking people, his vest, tactics, abusing the caretaker

Personality: wily, clever, fun loving, laid back, very caring, intelligent.
Background: Killed by his brother in a misunderstanding involving his brother’s girlfriend, he has been roaming about pretending to be human due to his “disabilities”. He soon found The Academy and took up haunting it and abusing the caretaker. He took to Kassandra at once and has a crush on her--and he lets the whole world know.

Likes: Jeremy, Karma, her classmates, school, walking, swimming, hacky sack (Jeremy’s love of it is starting to wear off on her)
Dislikes: tasting blood, morphing, fighting, hurting people, school, mystery of her parents

Personality: Somewhat paranoid, quiet, caring,
Background: Kassandra came to The Academy before she knew what she was. She soon learned that she is a vampire/werewolf hybrid--meaning that she morphs into a vampire whenever she tastes blood. She is very dangerous in this form and cannot distinguish between friends and foes--only prey and equals. She wonders who her real parents are and what her guardians (who raised her because her real parents couldn’t due to the war between werewolves and vampires. Her “mother” is a friend of her vampiric father while her “father” is a friend of were lupine mother) are up to now that they’ve ditched her and each other.
Karma: Karma is a strange creature that hatched from the rock that Jeremy and Kassandra were using in place of a hacky sack. Due to this it has severe brain damage and is a very loving creature rather than the bloodthirsty killer it should have been. It recognizes Kassandra as its mother and Jeremy as its father--a fact that Jeremy likes to abuse. It sleeps in the drawer in Kassandra’s beside table.
DESCRIPTION FROM THE BOOK (AND AN EXAMPLE OF JEREMY AND KASSANDRA INTERACTING): “The thing in his hand may have been a type of amphibian. It had a large head that was completely connected to a little body that ended in a tapered tail. It had for stump feet that it sort of waddled on. Each food had two razor sharp ebony claws.
“It’s face consisted of two dark eye sockets and a huge mouth of needle like teeth. It’s body was like the rock from which it hatched--shiny blue and green splotches all over and was smooth like marble.
Kassandra held it while Jeremy pulled the glass out of himself. It nuzzled her thumb and then rolled over so she could pet its black, velvety stomach.
Just as she suspected would happen, Marcus poked his head in the door to see what all the hubbub was about. “What is that thing?” He asked, eyeing it wearily.
“Why, Marcus,” Jeremy wrapped his arm around Kassandra and pulled her close. He grinned and said, “It’s our love child. Can’t you tell? Takes after his mother.”
ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF KASSANDRA AND JEREMY ONE ON ONE:
(A very snobby man has just walked away from the two of them.)
They watched him go, and once he had disappeared along the road, Jeremy laughe.d “I don’t think he liked me vest.”
“Then he’s crazy,” Kassandra snorted.
“You like my vest.”
“Your vest is awesome. I love your vest.”
“As much as you love me?”
“Naw,” Kassandra laughed, punching him in the shoulder playfully. “I think I love your vest more.”
“Awww,” Jeremy whined, but he was smiling. “That was mean!”
“Oh, come one, you big baby,” Kassandra grinned, pulling him toward the door. “Let’s go get breakfast.”
“Just for that, I’m going to get a black vest.”
“And a pink tie?”
“Yeah.”
“Yeah, right.”
“Really!”
