[Hippie era opening]
Staring at the graveled flooring with very few feeble weeds managed to thrive in this heat with the closest thing to water was the saliva he spat. Doubled over panting the young man straightened, sheilding his eyes from the blaring sun. With nothing more than a duffle bag over his shoulder he glanced back, no longer able to see his uncle's piece of Ford pickup that broke down a mile back. The b*****d was passed out with a whiskey bottle to his lips so it was cake to steal the thing. Justin looked to his left, the occasional car would pass with a mere glance at him. With torn jeans and a flannel shirt, the young brunette probably looked like a troublesome vagabond. Where was he going? No where exactly, simply escaping the grimy paws of a retired police chief gone drunk. Dragging his arm across his forehead he exhaled turning to walk backwards to flag down passing cars with no such luck of a ride. "Come on." It was miles from the next town, no telling if the teen would make it before the buzzards got to him.
[Past Vampire intro]
Sitting before a well fed fire, the warmth was wasted but it provided him some company this evening. Twirling his glass making the deep red liquid to dance with it as he stared at the flames. He sipped from the glass, exhaling delightlifully from the sweet taste. An alarming knock on his front door snapped him from his quiet daze, he turned his head. The glow of the fire spilling over the deep cratered scar that started from his fine cheekbone and curved down pass his jawline. Gaze narrowing he set his glass down and reached for his cain, slowly he rose to his feet. The man easily cleared 6'5 with an almost stiff posture, blonde hair reaching ear length but tied in the currently fashionable ponytail.
Walking with a slight limp, he proceeded slowly down the staircase to his front door. He pulled the door open, a much shorter man tipped his hat with a thin smile. "Good evening, sire. I beg your pardon for intruding so late but my employer would like to invite you to a special gathering." He bowed and offered an envolope with the familar royal seal, made out to Louis Richard. The taller man nodded and accepted the invitation before shutting the door on the messenger. His memory failed him, he didn't attend many socials so he was unsure of the host.
He returned to his study, throwing a new log into the fire he examined the envolope then smiled. Recalling a younger gentlemen some time ago he met in a social address gathering, a full evening of drinking and deep conversation. The man pulled a small letter opener, breaking the seal he opened the letter. Another gathering or really a bonquet sale, a brow raised at the mention of gentlemen companions. "A live sale hm?" He read over the finely written words, taking a drink from his gaze he shook his head, the end signed 'old friend'
Looking across the room he didn't completely reject the idea, these past nights the quiet home as haunted him. His books no longer keeping his attention and well, the fire could only do so much for him. A night outside these walls would prove worthwhile either way.
