James slowly stood up. The icy water didn’t move. “How is this even possible?” He asked no one.
“It’s because you are special and only special things happen to special people,” James spun around.
There was a woman behind him. Her hair was short and like a raven’s; thin, jet black and even. The woman’s eyes were a sort of purple and her skin was as pale as the snow around them. An elegant silver cloak that swept the snowy earth covered her shoulders and whole body while making her gleam star bright.
“Come with me James,” She laughed a bright tinkling laugh. “Come and leave this town where you and your talents are underappreciated.”
James watched with horror as his foot took one step forward on its own. “What are you?” He breathed.
“Walk a bit faster and you will know. I do know all about you James. That bit of water behind you is nothing compared to what I can teach you.” The woman smiled and flashed her blazingly whit teeth. “I know you want to learn. I’ve seen your thoughts and I also see the ambition that lies within you. Come with me and watch that power in you grow.”
Ever since the woman first spoke , James felt something cold inside him stir. With every word she had spoken he could feel this thing inside him awaken more and more. It tore at his being and soul. It lashed out and wanted freedom. He couldn’t help but think that maybe this lady could help him. Make him whole again. His other foot slowly moved closer.
