Thanks goes to legends for showing me this and allowing me to use it. Sneasil is my favourite, and this is where he found it http://www.pokemonaholic.com/pokegifs20.html

Today, I'll be talking about a card game I got into.

Those who've played trading card games since 1993 should have heard of this one. Its called Magic the Gathering and was the first ever trading card game. Its tournaments in America give huge prizes (compared to the ones in the UK which only give booster pack boxes as prizes).

For those who've never heard or played it, its simple. Each player is a wizard with 20 life. By placing mana on the field and tapping it, players can summon creatures which are tapped on summoning but from the next turn become untapped. The controller of the creature can choose to attack to opposing player. If this player is unprotected by their own summoned creatures, the creature takes away the respective damage point to the life.

But also there are spells which can do many things, and many other types of cards I've yet to find such as artifacts. All these do many things to the game, either aiding the player using them, damaging the other players creature or life, boosting the users creatures and even sometimes damaging both players (usually black decks use these because they can afford to).

Now, it sounds simple enough, until you get to the mana. There are five colours, Red, Blue, White, Green and Black. Red is the mountains, Blue is th Ocean, White is light, Green is Forest and Black is swamp. Each card has a base type, so say you wanted to play a card of Red, with 2 and two red symbols, this means two mana of any must be tapped, followed by two Red mana. With symbols, those MUST be tapped. No choice. Once that's done, the card can be played.

As with other games that use Mana, it doesn't cost anything to put it down, but if you use more mana than needed per turn, an effect called Mana burn comes into effect, taking one life for each unused Mana.

And that's basically Magic the Gathering. I haven't collected any cards in a while, and it shows in my deck, being a duel Blue and White deck. I plan to get into it, and collect as many cards as possible for it.

With my new job secured, I can easily get boosters and decks to expand my Magic the Gathering card collection. Anyone collect this card game? I want to talk with more experianced players.
