Yes, the series we've known and loved for seven years is finally coming to a close, after finishing the nearly 800-page book in about seven hours, here's my official SPOILER-FREE commentary of the final installment of the Harry Potter series: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Okay, I'm going to say right off that this is my favorite book in the whole series. While it has its share of plot holes and Deus Ex Machina moments, it wraps up a lot of big questions pretty well. Actually, she wraps up things a little too well in the Epilogue. The whole thing felt really cheesy, and the book would've been better if it was left out. Oh well.
The first half or so seems pretty awkward, as if it was only filler for the final scenes, and explains how they get there in the first place. It is worth your time to stick through it however, because it gets much better towards the end. I was laughing and crying through most of the latter third of the book, and you feel really emotionally drained once you finally finish it.
That's about all I can say without revealing too much of the main plot. Overall, I give this book a solid 9.0/10 points. It's by no means perfect, but it's a great read and satisfying end to this legendary franchise.
