the best way2 explain Pensic to someone who's never been,iz2 say that it is like a 2-week-long party, with 10 thousand of yur closest friends.

thingiz...u almost gotta go back in time for it,but that's the least of the hassle..
there is something for everyone...

you can teach or take a class at Pensic University, on things like alchemy, pirates,japanese language&culture(before the meiji restoration&the edo period, ussually), how to teach a class at Pensic, filk songs....&many others.the university would b open today...

there are yummy foods2 buy...but you can run real low on funds real quick if u eat too much take out...tho the portunes are wourth teh price!

u can go shopping 4 books,now garb(clothing n the syle of somewhere between the 3rd&17th centuries),toys&lots of cool stuff.


basically...Pensic is a town n pensylvania that iz only around fer 2 weeks out of the year...it is situated in a place called cooper's lake camp ground (so yah,campin' ain't optional!)and it is(for the purposes of the cencus for the area)filled withj tranzients...who just happen to include lawyers, teachers, docters &ary personnel among their ranks wink

everywhere u go,u will find a person who could b yur friend,who has something n common with u.

there are street preformers that r really good...some like wolgamut(prob not spellin that correctly)play music&even have published c.d.s(celestial disks)u can buy, others like the chinease-oprea lady, done beautiful costumes&make up,&then do non-musical preformances. what she would do, is stand still az a statue until by the road until someone would put a bit of money n2 her basket. then she would twirt and -ok, so i guess u had ta b ther 'cause this makes it sound stupid...

the secound week of pensic iz the war, there people dress up in metal or leather or plastic armour&other essentiat protectiv geat& bash on each other with rattan sticks wrapped n duct tape, pretending 2b knights of the aurterian bent. i like putting it like that 4 shock&also because i kno it iz absurd n it's way...

anyway, i am a mof the sociaty for creative anacronism. tis is what we do, think about,and plan 4 every august...
