Mikey glared at me.
“Hey,” He whispered.
I ignored him.
“Yo, new girl! Talk! Are you deaf?”
I still tried to ignore him but he was really getting on my nerves.
“Ah, what a retarded ape.” He said brushing of and turning away.
“Okay. What is it?” I finally said still not turning to him.
He turned to me looking amazed.
“Wow, the ape can talk!”
My face got red again. But I wasn’t embarrassed, I was mad.
“So hey,” he continued to say, “you don’t mind if I look at your paper, do you? Your smart and all, and my grades are lowering-”
I interrupted him.
“No thank you. I won’t let you cheat off my paper.”
“Oh c’mon! Just a couple problems! I suck at math-”
I raised my hand.
“Yes, Kat?” Mrs. Telly asked.
“Mikey is asking to cheat of my paper and he called me an ape.” I said in one breath.
“What the-“ Mikey whispered. “God, Ape! Why the hell did-“
“Mikey Oakword! Hall. Now. I’ll talk to you after this lesson.” Mrs. Telly snapped.
He stood up and rolled his eyes.
“Thanks a lot, Ape.” He whispered in my ear before he left the room.
I didn’t see him until lunch when he was sitting with his “cool” friends. I disgusted me how everyone was so groupie and clingy and were so divided. Well, that didn’t matter. I wasn’t like they were going to ask me to join them.
I went and sat at the table near the garbage can, which was rather disappointing considering the way it smelled. But I have been through worse so it didn’t bother me. I took out my lunch from the bag I was carrying and started to eat.
I bunch of people stared at me. Especially Mikey. He whispered to the blonde girl. And she was laughing. So that meant he was probably making fun of me.
Before I knew it they were laughing so hard I could hear. In fact, everyone at his table was. Strangely, I made me sad. But it shouldn’t have. People always did it to me. But I still cried. After he was sick of laughing he looked at me for a moment. And I was crying.
Then everyone looked at me. Then everyone started to laugh. Except stupid Mikey. He was kissing the blonde girl.
I stood up, and ran out of the lunch room. And ran into the bathroom, and ate the rest of my lunch there.
