Kyber grew tired of the ride to the "restaurant of eternity" A eating establishment that millions flocked to in hopes of eating a meal, the Derath military took the planet from the peaceful Snithi who first built the restaurant. when the transport pulled up to the building Kyber stepped out, and helped Kate out. the general lead the two humans into the restaurant, in his hand was a metal case. inside a wonderful smell of local, and galactic specialties, a Snithi waiter dressed in gold silk cloths lead the Derath and humans to a table in the back, the tables around theres were filled with other Deraths.
After ordering Kyber decided to talk business. "So, Kona what makes the Derath military want are compound?" Kyber asked "What makes you want to get ride of the place?" Kona reversed his silky voice asked ignoring the question he was asked. "My team, and me plan on leaving, with the sale of the compound we plan on buying the a ship." Kyber answered his voice was concealing his annoyance with Kona. Kate handed the datapad with the contract to Kona after Kyber finished his comment. Kona begain to read the contract, the base was of strict military asset, it could take brutal punishment form almost any weapon and still hold its shape. the base was also three floors two of which were under ground with radiation shielding. Kona's face soured as he began to read the last line, "All holocams will be take, but can purchased of one hundred credits." "What is the meaning of this." Kona huffed his snout ruffled back his voice was no longer the soft tone he stated with, but was now a gravely tone of anger. "Well when we purchased the compound it had no holocams, so we thought it..." Kyber was stopped by Kona's sudden jump to his feet. "You dare to think, we need to follow your plans!" Kona erupted his gray-green face was now a violet-red. A few of the other Derath got up they were under cover security detail. "Maybe we can talk this out." Kyber's voice was still untainted "Maybe." Kona said his eyes looked as if they could kill. "How about five hundred extra creds, and you can have the base." Kyber said his right hand was in his jacket, the fingers rested on his disruptor pistol. "I will pay only for the base." Kona said his gray eyes turned to Kate. Kyber pulled his pistol out and aimed at Kona's head in the Derath culture this would be a winning negotiation. "I might be willing pay." Kona's tone was a tone of fear mixed with anger. "I will say a price you pay hows that for a deal?" Kyber said he was not concealing his emotions his voice was one of anger. "I can only go to two million credits." Kona said his guards knew to stand down they would only fire if Kona was killed, to the Derath the only time a guard is to use his weapon is for a blood revenge. "I guess that will do." Kyber said as he grabbed the metal case from the table. "Oh i want the access code to the transport we took to get here. Cuz i really won't my ship." "Take, take it, the codes Kona king." Kona said he was still cowering but his anger was riseing.
As Kyber, and Kate left, the Derath general looked at his dinner, his stomach was twisted the fact that he lost the case with two point five million credits. he would most likely face death, or exile if he didn't stop the Mercenaries.
The transport was at maximum speed they were slowing a bit as they pulled to the shipyard. A greasy Snithi stood there his gray fir was black in spots, and brown in others. Kyber got out and ripped the tuxedo off his stygim armor. Kate only shook her head. "Hey, Kyber here to look at the "Right to rule" or are you ready to buy it?" the greasy Snithi asked. "Yes i am." Kyber said He was running he knew a Derath would try to restore his honor, Kate was close behind followed by the Snithi. When they reached the ship in the middle of the yard it had been ten minutes. The "Right to rule" was a long ship with four mass drivers, two concussion missile batteries, a missile jammer and two ion cannon batteries. "You know it's about ten million credits." the Snithi said as Kyber, and Kate began to walk up the ramp. Kyber nodded his head and Kate turned to the grease Snithi. "I think this is all you need." Kate said handing the grease Snithi man a metallic case, in side were credit chips worth ten thousand credits, in stacks of ten credit chips. "thank you?" the Snithi stammered he never guessed that Kyber could make that money.
As Kyber was about to open the door to the ship a sound of a siren could be heard, two heavy fighters passed over head. Still in a frosty demeanor Kyber opened the door as he walked in he motioned Kate in. then he looked over at the Snithi who was quivering in fear as the fighters made another quick pass. "You want to ride too." Kyber said his voice was calm as if this was a normal day. without a second thought the Snithi. As Kyber turned he walked slowly so the Snithi could walk with him. "So what's you name?" Kyber asked as they walked to the bridge of the ship. "It's Mith'ra'wnoo." the Snithi said his voice was quivering as the sirens grew louder. the two walked to the bridge in silence.
Kate reached the bridge first, and jumped into the navigators seat. She Immediately started the generators and charged the Ion cannons, and shields. As Kyber and Mith'ra'wnoo were almost at the bridge when the repulsors lifted the ship off the ground, the slight shaking made the Snithi stumble a bit.
"Sir, I'm getting us back to base, but we got company behind us so please get to the bridge sir." Kate said shortly after the ship lifted off the ground the ship was speeding on repulsor as to not kill the people on the ground with a sonic boom.
After a few minutes Kyber, and Mith'ra'wnoo reach the bridge, Mith'ra'wnoo decided to inform them they had no real weapons. "We don't need to hit with are mass drivers, no only slow them down." Kyber said as he sat in the weapons command seat. His first target for the rear two Ion cannons was a Heavy fighter that was in range the first two ion cannon batteries missed, and the fighter retaliated with a salvo of Quantum torpedoes. To Kate and Kybers sunrises Mith'ra'wnoo was in the defenses seat and deployed the rear chaff canisters, and soaked up the torpedoes. Kyber fired again this time he drew power from the shields, and mercilessly fire on the fighter each shot chewed on the enemy's shields cutting down to the metal and leached engine power to keep it afloat. The base grew closer and the "Right to rule" was in the bases sensors range the second ship saw its chance its twin laser cannons fired and crashed weakening the shields to thirty percent, after Kyber's Ion assault. the lasers left carbon scorching, and the ion cannons were missing, the base was so close. the variables were numerous, the outcomes were only numbered at two, Die or live.
Ten minutes before the "Right to rule's" shields had dropped Jekk saw the ships, he knew that the ship that read as "Right to rule" was Kyber. He, and Daniel ran to their mechs "The templar of Faust" and "Bird of Prey" when they were in they moved to the offensive.
Kyber fired without a lock a few shots glanced the fighters side, but did nothing. Kyber then looked at the sensors two blips moved in from the base, and a audio message played on the ship.
"Hey Kyber you were suppose to take care of Kate not draw her into a combat zone" Jekk's voice Jested as his mech moved into attack position on the last fighter, his Stygim cable anchored into the fighters hull with a flick of the controls he swung the fighter to the ground.
Some how with luck, or great skill they moved the mechs, weapons and ammunitions to the ship. they had made it into orbit. Their next stop was on the galactic rim, to a planet called Asura, home of the mech clan: Demons of Zalmon.
