Okay, this has been bothering me ever since I came on Gaia.
There are certain bands that people say are "emo"...but in all reality, they aren't "emo" at all.
Take My Chemical Romance for example. They aren't emo in the slightest. neutral
The closest line to that is "A thousand bodies piled up I never thought would be enough to show you just what I've been thinking." That's not...that's just depressed. Spot the difference?
Second band for the day: Linkin Park.
Okay, I can understand how people think they are so-called "emo". But they aren't...
Apart from the line in Points of Authority ("The way I hurt myself again just to get back at you" wink and the entire "Given Up" song, there's really nothing "emo" about them.
Why do I say "emo" with quotations? Well, I see the word as sort of an insult in a way.
