There had been no need to glass the colony.
In a distant way, Captain Arleen Walder was almost bitter at those pieces of alien arschgesichts.
They weren't good enough, were they?
Their tiny little colony wasn't good enough for their damned weapons!?

Amongst the rubble and blood, the German woman gave a soft sob, and bowed her head.
If not for her gloves, her nails would have surely pierced her palms.
Dents and scratches covered her boots and armor, things that were polished and perfect this morning looking as if they'd been picked up from the scratch pile.
In truth, it was amazing her Marine uniform even held up together...
The formerly tough camouflage designs seemed to sport every single tear imaginable, revealing bruised and bleeding skin underneath.
The cuts were worse then they looked.... Blood always seemed to make things worse then they looked.
That's what she kept telling herself as she stared out into the rubble, tears running down her mud-covered face.
It was just the blood.... J-Just the blood.
In truth, everything was better then it seemed, right?
Just because... Just because there were so many bodies....
It didn't mean anything!

Arleen held onto that thought desperately as she stumbled through the rubble, past cracked and shattered walls.
