A rant came from the flood is a direct correlation with Gaia and how it moves. It seems Gaia keeps getting filled with more and more people that are miss informed and instead of >.> <.< informing then we just click that 'report this post' button and send it off to mods who have to spend 10min.- months finding out if the person committed an wrong act. Sad to say half the people on Gaia get yelled at for just knowing about something small.
What is with this higher power with people that have been on Gaia longer? It seems with the 'godly Gaians' aka anyone with a 2003 donation item are all the sudden untouchable...they live in there own bubble....I don't I see a lot of people with mini's talking to people without mini's! Is it (I'm guessing) because everyone else is annoying to them. Well there will still be annoying even after time. Now I am starting to generalize there are very very nice people that help a lot of people but it always seems that the rude Gaians over shadow the nice Gaians. I rarely see a person well informed.....informing! Which brings me to my next rant...
Do we all think that since we know how to post a picture and know how to send a trade that we don't have to read the informative stickies? Myself, I'm starting from forum one sticky one so I can read all the information available... not so I can talk a newbie down for not knowing. It's so I can correct a person who just had there facts wrong. I know I want to read it all, I want to know stuff and not be one of those Gaians sitting in the corner wishing for certain items posting in the chatter box my whole Gaian life. I want to help people...If reading a 5 page sticky on why we shouldn't have stripper threads than so be it. I know there is a point in which you have to say 'hey slow down here your not superman' true but helping one lost soul won't hurt.
Don't go thinking 'well if you have such high hopes then you go do it' now I think about this and go 'yeah I'll do it' until I go into a thread and realize I have no idea what they were talking about. I think to myself 'I'll start a thread to help this, I'll start a thread to help that' but if you really want to help...well gosh that takes a lot of research. Suddenly I don't feel like I can do this all myself and maybe I should return to the flood of Gaians, stay quiet and get a grip.
Please don't think 'ok I'll go to a charity donate a 100g or so just so I can get her to stop talking' yeah go and donate but that's not going to solve the problem I'm ranting about... gold is not going to teach someone that posting 'bump' 500 times in one quote is going to make the page go faster. It's the whole 'give the boy a fish and feed him for a day teach the boy to fish and feed him for a life time' getting the general populous of Gaia informed might be good.
Well then you think 'well if your not going to let me run into a charity and fulfill my honorable deed then what's a way I can I do it!'...ehhhh you tell me your creative! I know I find an interest in the 'questions and assistance' forum...there I can answer those simple 'how do you post a picture' questions...I feel like I'm slightly informed and I helped someone... and maybe that person might teach another... All the sudden you wonder about ...'well who thought me how to do that...and man was it useful' if well all aim to help then there will be no one to help in the end and the complaining about Gaians being so annoying will deplete.
What is this dream of everyone I see to become a mod? Are you crazy, do you think they have it easy? Do you think they can walk up to someone and say 'hey you know I don't like your hair...your banned' That just doesn't happen! These people work hard to keep Gaia suitable for you to post. It seems no one can do anything without bothering a mod about it.. Do you know how much PMs Lanzer gets? (he's not a mod but an example at that) Thousands! I believe I was told about 6,000 and most of them are petty questions about personalized problems.
Banning isn't as easy as you might think, these people have to spend a lot of time and research to find out of Billy really stole Jane's scarf. To add on that they have to deal with the Gaians that fight against what hey say. They are mods...when they tell you to do something...DO IT show some kind of respect here people this power isn't as freelance fun as it seems.
