ok, so i went and watched it last week. when i left, my mom said she hoped i'd enjoy a scary slasher movie...i don't consider it to be be a slasher...also, when i came home, she asked how it was. i told her it had more blood then the first one (avp) but that was understandable, as it had more potential bleeders.
i have seen no preditor movies, but i get a sence of the governator fighting them in a jungle...(i know a bit more about aliens,but is that saying much? they seem to have no motivation, besides propogation...altho in this movie it seems they has developed a taste for blood...but is it to stabalize their bodies or a semi-caniblistic beverage?)
this movie has us, once again rooting for the preditor team, while the puny humans just try to survive...
interestingly, the preditor would starilize most of the 'crime scenes' that delt with kills at alien hands...but then would leave any human who'd seen him/her flayed&hanging from a tree...0-o?
i understand causeing head-asplodes to those stupid enough to point a weapon at our lone preditor, but i guess i'm too klingon-minded to understand the skined-alive for seeing you thing...and the only 1 guy going off&mebbi not even telling anyone? well, mebbi he just didn't want anyone else to take his kill? he also might have had a familial relationship with the young preditor who got hisself killed AND infected afore...
i do get that the sences of a preditor are different from humans, thus when we see the preditors pov it can be confusing.
&i definently caught the military-mom and little daughter conection(riply&small child)
the action was lotsa, and pretty good but i wish i coulda seen the preditor/alien hybrid that we knewed was commin since the end of movie1 better!
the end, where just about everyone was whiped out...meh. it keeps this in continuity, i guess. also, when the one girl died (and those jerk-frells too) i did breifly fash back to the laws of horror-films as established in the Scream movies. briefly.
i do not know who Mrs. Y is or if she has any connection to Wayland Industries, but even tho i don't have all the info, i'm still confident that the movie can be enjoyed as a stand-alone(tho if you hasn't seen avp, you should. the space between them, in-continuity, is 10 min or less)
i wanna know if the acid blood placed on the face of 'Aprentice Preditor' lady in avp might have killed her...or might mark her as someone to be hunted later...it'd be interesting if she got togeather with the 4-human group to leave that sleepy, little town...but i think her ties to Waylad Industries might hinder her there, again, if she is alive...

heh, looks like i can really only speculate as to what might happen next, and even to what has happened already!watch this movie for youself and then make up your own interperatations!
