Sweetest desperation held so fast to my heart,
Love carried for so long that it is lost so suddenly,
Emptiness fills the weary heart that beats so softly,
Warmth over come by the feeling of being left behind,
Bleak darkness flows through the eyes of the beholder,
As the light fades the shadows creep forward,
The heart is willing and yet the soul pleads for a resolution,
Looking at his reflection seeing only a shadow,
Looking into his future seeing only himself,
Pleading for a companion but receiving emptiness,
As he closes his eyes memories steal his emotions.
The fallen warrior rests now.
