<b>Lisa McPherson</b>
Police say McPherson, 36, entered the Fort Harrison Hotel, Scientology's Clearwater headquarters, in November 1995. They say she was physically healthy but psychologically disturbed. Seventeen days later she died. An autopsy determined her death was due to a blood clot brought on by ..<i>..severe dehydration'' and ...bed rest.''</i> Pinellas-Pasco Medical Examiner Joan Wood has said the medical evidence indicates <i>McPherson went without fluids for five to 10 days, possibly longer, and was comatose for at least 24 hours before she died. Bites on her hands were most likely made by cockroaches</i>, Wood has said. (Tampa Tribune, June 1, 1997)

<b>Heribert Pfaff</b>
According to the records, Heribert P. died August 28, 1988, during the night from a heavy epileptic attack. He hit his head on the night table. <i>The scientology doctor reports that he prescribed vitamins for his patient - despite regular attacks- instead of treating him with proper medication.</i> Such medication was indeed not detected in his blood during the postmortem examination.

<b>Josephus A. Havenith </b>
An autopsy report lists his death as "probable drowning" but notes that his head was not under water. He died in February 1980 at the Scientology Fort Harrison Hotel in a bathtub filled with <i>water so hot it had burned his skin off.</i>

<b>Noah Antrim Lottick</b>
This young Russian-studies scholar had jumped from a 10th-floor window of the Milford Plaza Hotel and bounced off the hood of a stretch limousine. When the police arrived, his fingers were still clutching <i>$171 in cash, virtually the only money he hadn't turned over to the Church of Scientology</i>, the self-help "philosophy" group he had discovered just seven months earlier.

The Church of Scientology was given a tax exemption for being a "religion" in the 60s. This was revoked after "Operation Snow White", ("Operation Snow White was the Church of Scientology's name for a project during the 1970s to purge unfavorable records about Scientology and its founder L. Ron Hubbard. This project included a series of infiltrations and thefts from 136 government agencies, foreign embassies and consulates, as well as private organizations critical of Scientology, carried out by Church members; the single largest infiltration of the United States government in history with up to 5,000 covert agents." -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_snow_white ). In 1993, Bill Clinton reinstated the Church's "religion" tax exemption, saying it was a "non-profit charitable organization."
Non-profit, huh? Members need to pay $250,000~ to become an "OTIII" (Operating Thetan level three) ("Operating Thetan" is a religious state), part of Scientology's secret "Advanced Technology" doctrines taught only to members who have already contributed large amounts of money to the organization.
What are they taught? Why, the story of Xenu.
"Xenu (also Xemu), according to Scientology founder (and science fiction writer) L. Ron Hubbard, was the dictator of the "Galactic Confederacy" who, 75 million years ago, brought billions[1] of his people to Earth in DC-8-like spacecraft, stacked them around volcanoes and killed them using hydrogen bombs. Scientology holds that their essences remained, and that they form around people in modern times, causing them spiritual harm."
