I have read some rubbish before, but the forums are loaded with American bashing comments, such as, our education stinks, we are retarded, etc.. I have to say just a few things about, my Country the United States of America.

1. We are a collection of different ethnic backgrounds that exist peacefully with each other. We respect each others freedom of speech, and freedom of religion.

2. We are the largest consumer of goods and services produced world wide, so we buy things from most countries, thus helping others to have jobs.

3. We are always at the hot spots in the world, helping other countries defend themelves. This has happened since before World War I, and still is done today.

4. We send water, food, and medical supplies around the world, to so many different countries, on a daily basis.

5. We have our best and brightest people sent around the world to rebuild water systems, get power going, and build schools.

6. Our Elected officals are not the sole representives of what America is, they are a choice we have to make during elections. We can only vote for who we think will do the best job, based on previous experience, and future programs and promises they make.

7. We have a great collection of people in the US, from the under educated hard working manual laborer, to the best minds the world has ever seen. Most people strive to provide the best they can for their family, just like you.

8. Since we are the richest country in the world, if you judge the US by gross domestic product we are the target of the most insults. It seem natural to be mad, or jealous at the rich guy on the block, so no hard feelings from me. Say what you will about the US.

9. Our streets are not lined with gold, many families do without the basic things they need daily. It is said that we do more for other countries than we do for ourselves. I would have to agree with this in some ways.

I could go on, and on, but by now I hope you get the idea. We might not always be right, but we do try to help.
