Fire in the Sky
I am writing this down so I don't forget, so I never forget, what I saw this night, March 9th 2008. It was between the hours of 8-9 PM that I stepped outside of Christian Ridge Church of Ellsworth, Maine, to get into my friend's parent's car to go home, I happened to look up into the night sky, North West if I remember correctly. There I saw a strange object in the night sky moving North or North-East that I thought was a falling star, but it was moving to slowly, although it was moving in one direction, then I thought it might have been an airplane as it had a red/orange glow to it. This suited me just fine for several seconds until I noticed several things, it was too big or too close to the ground, maybe half-quarter the size of the moon, it was moving to slow and it seemed to look like it was smoking. It left a trail of smoke that quickly dissapeared the object made no noise and I only spotted it by chance. I asked the other three people in the car if they had seen anything, they said they hadn't and I stepped into the car and we drove off, I never saw it again that night.
I may never know what this object was, but I know I will never forget it or that night that I spotted it. Was it a sign from God meant for only me to see, a fireball from the heavens on that cloudless winter night, a UFO crashing? Who knows, the only thing that I know is I was the only one to see it that night, whatever it was.
