Always remember that ninjas are the real ultimate power.
Japan. I'm Going to Japan... Yeah... Sweeeet...
Alright, so here's the deal, people. I'm going to Japan this summer. Yes, that's right. Japan. Retracing those ninja roots and all that. It's a four week exchange though the school, but little do they know that I'm just using them to blend in, MUAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh... Hope they don't read this. Anyway, here's the problem. I'm not sure what I should bring back. I must, unfortunately, take a plane over, which limits my selection of weapons to sporks and paper clips. Well, that's really not a problem for me, but I was hoping to get a genuine Japanese katana while I was over there, and bringing it back may be difficult (as I will still be using the confounded air transport! Honestly, has the regular population never heard of teleportation?) Would anybody happen to know of a good way to legally transport a weapon back to the states? More particularly, a sword? I'm unfamiliar with the customs customs (get it? No? No? Ah, never mind). If anyone has information, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Until then, keep it ninja!

Heh. I'll try. Did you guys have anything in mind? I'm going to get a lot of animeish stuff and a sword if I can legally get it back though customs. I was thinking "VIDEO GAMES!!!" And then I realized, "Damn... Video games are really really expensive in Japan. Like... 4,200 yenn for a DS game... Yeah. Wow.

I would probably tell you I doubt you could afford an actual katana, they cost thousands if not millions of dollars.

Now, if its treated ornamentally, I dont think it'll be a problem as long as you check in your luggage (its certainly not for carry on).

Well, the uncle of my host brother actually owns a $6,800 hand-crafted samurai katana (which he let me use) and let me tell you... it was sweet. However, there are the million dollar ones, but those are actually from like... feudal Japan, and I couldn't even find one, not in a museum, much less buy it.
