Today, after a 2-week break from Neopets, I decided to go check up on my pets..
Only to find that I couldn't access my account anymore and that my active pet had some stupid costume on.
Panicked, I checked my pets' lookups, and discovered that their petpets were gone and the name I was using on site (Yume Tusspot) had been changed to 'Tiffany'. So, I checked my user lookup as well.. Indeed, some impudent American girl had stolen my account!
I couldn't submit the simple 'lost password' form because I don't remember what e-mail I had used for Neopets. I've been there for four years and have created multiple accounts.
So, I had to fill out a long form to convince TNT, the site management, that the account is MINE, and NO ONE ELSE's.
I don't know how this can be possible - I had a safe password with small and capital letters and numbers mixed!
