ok, at first i was unimpressed with this movie. the tittle and poster made it seem blah...
i had heard nothing of the plot and figured i'd watch it if my mom wanted to(she often pays)
well, we did see it. and it was good.

Gwenivere Pettigrew is a governess in imidiatly pre-ww2 london...and is bad at it. she's been fired for the last time, and won't be given anouther chance...but she instead takes one!

To keep from being on the streets she takes the info for a miss Delicia LaFoss and convinces her that she's been sent over by the agency. Delicia is a swinger with 3 boyfreinds, a very carefree-seeming nature and quite an ambition. she's gonna be a star!
Missus P is going to be Delicia's governess social secritary(because "rabbit" warren, Delicia's stage rival has one)
so, Missus P manages to smooth things out in Delicia's life, by getting rid of one boyfriend(so he won't run into the one who owns the flat), then convincing the other to back off so the two girls can attend a lengeree show, where they meet 2 other important peoples, both of the fation world.
they are at a bit of a rocky place in thir relationship, and the salon owner wants Missus P to smooth things over with joe(who trained in socks which are much more difficult then bras are to construct)
there is a coctail party, a make-over, Delicia's performance at Nick's(the flat-owners) club, and...there is michael, the only other person who knows Delicia's name is really Sarah Grub(of the Pensilvania Grubs, her father is in steel)
the improvising Social Secritay must do her best to solve all these problems, and to decide which problems even deserve solving...but can she even do it? and will she have to leave her own problems unsolved in the stead of the very problimatic Delicia?
