It was know as the shadowlands a place where men and shadows diverged, where children played, with their shadow in the street. A place where shadows would be left in the heat of the day to tend the flock, and watch children, while men and women would leave at the peak hours of the afternoon, to travel to the well, for the days where hot. But those shadows where smart and they listened and talked with their living counterparts, and they took it as their duty to slave for their men and women. But one shadow disagreed, with his man, who had lusted after the naihbors wife. he could not do such a thing he loved the shadow woman he was married to, so he confronted her and told her what his man had done, but because she considered man and shadow one, she could not forgive him, and believed it was his fault that his man had gone astray. the poor shadow of a man was ripped apart his heart broken, so much so that he left and ventured out into the desert, with no food or water, for as a shadow he had always copied his master and had never understood hunger or thirst but as a feeling he could do nothing to help. As he passed through the village, people and shadows alike screamed at his passing, he was alone and thus only a mere spirit, he had done the ultimate betrayal marking his man as evil, a man without a shadow.
