The High Priestess jumped from the tower and fell to the ground and landed on her feet. Cracks formed in the ground where she landed and rock shards fell back to the ground. “To all of my children. I will not let these Children of the Advent to destroy our city that we worked so hard to create. The Fayth of Venus will not let us become extinct like the Children of Jupiter.” Then the Priestess saw that half of the Venus Children were dead, and only have of every couple remained, leaving the other incapacitated from heartbreak The Venus Star glowed angrily as the hymn of the Fayth was getting louder and louder.
“Aleks get down from there and help us get inside I think something is about to happen.” Aleks appeared in a flash of water, and it seemed that the Mercury Star was violently reacting to the presence of the Venus Star. “Ok we are in. Get ready for anything, there is no telling what powers she may have. Rael did you ever have a weapon when you were in Spira, or did you just use magic all the damn time?” I focused my mind on the sword I used to carry for almost 1000 years, the Deathbringer. My black sword with all the runes inscribed on it used to cause instant death with a single scratch from the blade. Suddenly a flash and my sword was in my hand, I was stunned, I mean it fell to the bottom of the sea in Spira. “WOW that blade looks absolutely wicked, and evil and the like. I haven’t ever seen anything so beautiful.” Spoke my sister, “Right now that is not important at all, what is important is that we have a very pissed off Summoner standing in front of us holding what we seek.” Exclaimed Aleks. As soon as he finished the sentence the High Priestess, stepped on our side of the fountain, the sun had peeked over the horizon as we got our first good look at her. Redd had hair the color of a deep red rose and wore a blood red summoner’s dress with roses adorning it. Her overall look was of a very pissed off blood soaked bride who just murdered her husband and bathed in his blood.
Redd pulled out her stave, it was a rose with a thick thorny stem. The top was a beautiful red rose. She whipped it around and large thorns, sprouted from the ground, separating myself, and all of my siblings and from there it was utter chaos. The earth beneath our feet began to crack and crumble away as Redd cast her magic all around us trying to kill us as quickly as possible. But we were prepared, Rayne leaped and her chakram came to life in her hands, and began to spin dangerously. Dante leaped to the side right before, a massive thorn vine hit him square in the chest. “Aleks?! Where are you, answer me dammit.” Suddenly a slide made of ice came wizzing above me as Aleks was riding it casting frozen spells, onto the thorns causing them to shrivel and die. “Would you shut the hell up and work your way towards Redd in all this mess. I have lived without you in my life for over 1000 years I think I can take care of myself, thanks.” He zoomed by me and cast a spell that looked like it was a pure rush of Freezing air. I jumped up and ran through the thorns striking occasionally with the Deathbringer, making sure to cut deep into the thorns to make sure the death runes did their work. It wasn’t before long that we finally made it back to the center of the city only to see that Redd was looking quite pissed off at the group of us.
Suddenly the ground began to quake as the wall cracked and water rushed in bur Redd waved her hands and a new wall was created instantaneously. She cackled darkly, as she held the Venus Star in her hands. “You think that you can honestly storm MY CITY OF DIAMONDS?!!!! Even if you are the Children of Change, you cannot cause the fall of the Earth Chldren. I would rather die than see this city crumble into ruins. So with that I will show you the true power of the Stars.” She held her stave and the earth began to shake, and an ancient seal formed underneath her, the Star glowed, with a renewed vigor. “May the Fayth of Old Earth destroy you Children of the Advent. May someone find you before I send you to the Farplane.” Suddenly a woman burst forth from the earth underneath the feet of the Priestess, covered in vines from head to toe. Flowers adorned the beautiful Fayth, as she began to finally emerge from under the ground.
“I am the Fayth of Old Earth, Andalasia. Children of the Advent prepare to be sent to the Farplane after I finish with you.” The flowered goddess, looked at our shabby group and laughed hysterically, until Aleks stepped forward speaking to the Star of Mercury. “How would you like to fight one of your own sisters Andalasia? Do you think you can prevail over Oceana, or should we find out first hand? Are you willing to fight someone, who used to stand at your side and fight the darkness.” Andalasia looked, stunned from Aleks, outburst, as were the rest of us, so far he had been quiet. “I shall do whatever I must to save my people. And if you try to stop me I will defeat you as well.” Andalasia raised her hands as a column of rock shot out of the ground and lifted all of us to the top of the wall, looking down on the city, I suddenly got very nervous about this fight.
I decided to take this fight into my own friends because the longer this fight lasted the less of a chance we would have of winning. I looked to Dante who, nodded because he had read my mind. He jumped back and started firing numerous rounds of bullets at Redd and Andalasia, hoping to distract them. It worked because I vanished immediately and reappeared three feet in front of Redd, but she was ready. She countered my attack with a sand blaster spell. The spell hit me full on, it felt like a giant sandstorm had concentrated its fury into one burst. In the meantime Aleks and Rayne had successfully driven Andalasia towards the edge of the Plateau, with their various magics. They had her cornered. Rayne began to brandish her whip towards Andalasia in attempts to make contact and deliver a powerful blow but she was too quick. Andalasia was hesitant to cast her magic for fear of hurting her summoner that she swore to protect. Suddenly a downpour of water the equivalent to a waterfall in a miniature state hit the plateau. “FLOAT.” I yelled as we all lifted off of the ground and Aleks waved his arms and all the water froze trapping Andalasia and Redd, in a frozen prison. We touched back on the ground, and I walked over the frozen duo, and cast a brutal spell that very few people had heard of. I took one look at Andalasia and whispered to her. “I banish you from this world Begone” and with that she screamed and disappeared, returning to the Venus Star. Redd shattered the ice and looked at us, but she knew that she was defeated.
“I have…..failed my people……..it’s over. They were counting on me.” For a moment I felt sorry for her. She had fought so hard to save the last of the Earth Children, from a terrible fate, and now she sat on the ground at our feet. The giant plateau sank back down to the city. Redd was now laying on the hard earth in a heap of red dress, with the roses looking quite wilted. She cried uncontrollably, “What will happen to these people without me? I have been here for over 300 years.”
A small girl walked out of the shadows, and spoke “I will, rule, the kingdom for now. You have alweady taught me awot, so fawr Redd. The people wuv me so much, maybe I can help a lot. More than most ppl know.” Redd looked at the girl, and finally spoke a comprehensible sentence. “Ok, I have taught you all that I know about ruling a Queendom, you will make a wonderful queen…….All Hail Queen Tierra.” I looked at Aleks, the sunshine made him look even more beautiful, than I had thought before. “I guess you are going with us then aren’t you Redd?” I asked quite politely. “Yes I am, my family left Giruvergan shortly after the war and has lived here ever since. So I guess that makes me an Advent Child like the rest of you. So yes I will go.”
I turned to open the portal to the city of the Wind Children when I realized that could not open the portal no matter how hard I tried. Redd laughed. “The power here keeps you from opening portals to the opposing elemental city. You have to open a portal to a place, that once touched the sky.” I thought long and hard the only place I could think of that even came close to touching the sky was Mount Gagazet in Spira but I doubted that even the mountains were tall enough. Then I remembered the place where the man in the black cloak first showed himself to me, and I grinned at the thought of the old ruins. “I have the perfect place.” I smiled. A swirling darkness opened before us, I walked forward with uncertainty until I saw the determination on Aleks’ face, as he walked next to me. We stepped through the portal only to be met by a man in a Black Cloak.
