If you know what a kender is, you will understand. If not, this is going to be a collection of random stuff depending on how I feel, the events of the day, web sites, personal interests, trinkets, collectables and stuff from my pockets :)
Thunder Bay Trip
Hubby and I went to Thunder Bay last month just for camping and so he could go to a L5R tournment. It rained for most of our stay there, and our little tent didn't like the huge thunderstorm that first night. Poor hubby and dog got wet while I was nice and dry. We were there for almost a week and it took us all that time to get the foam and hubbys sleeping bag dry enough to sleep on again the last night we were there. We had been sleeping in the SUV up until then. Luckily we had tones of blankets with us. Guess it could have been worse. We relaxed, did a fair amoung of reading and toured the city a little bit. On our way home, I stopped off at the amethyst mine and picked up a few chunks of the purple crystal. Nothing of any great quality, but still pretty. I also bought some store quality stuff as well, but that was a bit more expensive.
If we go again, the camping bit wasn't too bad, mind you we will be looking at getting a better tent. And the Dog will need to stay home so we can actually explore more of the tourist attractions (fort william, museums, Terry Fox monument). He also didn't like the long ride, the nights in the hotels and tent confused him. But he proved to be good otherwise. Kept to us like molasses that had been kept in the fridge, and even let a chipmunk help itself to some of his food. The squirrel on the other hand he kept chasing away which we thought was rather funny. Bear doesn't like squirrels as the ones at home tease him too much.
But we are home now, and have to get the dog use to the idea that he is home now and has to go back to eating Dog food without human food thrown on top of the mix.
