For an old classic it was pretty good. I thought the way all the Martians died was very believable. Since the main character already described them as having no immune system and like it made sense. I didn't find it sad or scary enough. How could people hear this broadcast and think it was true? Many people died in the book but you didn't know the people so it didn't affect the reader that much. The book only spans about 40 days.
