The Diary of a Dummy Head
Let's just pretend I'm interesting. :D
Wall o' Text Time

"Bye guys, I'm goin' home to watch me some baybehs." I said, taking my baseball cap off and letting my hair lose from it's restraint and ruffling it back to life.

"Hey Jess!" called Christian, walking from behind the counter hurridly.

"Yeah?"

"I've been meaning to ask you this for a while, but uh..." he looked down, nervously, at the black logo'd rug beneath our feet.

"Uhm... yes?" I said, while scratching my unusually itchy nose.

"Uhm... do you wanna go out sometime? You know um... maybe... catch a movie or something?"

'o .o; The deuce?' I thought with a confused blink, "Uh. Sure."

"Awesome, how about next Friday after we get our paychecks?"

"I dunno what I'm doing that night yet, I've been sorta busy lately, but... we'll see? ^^;"

"Oh, okay, cool, I guess. Uhm. Can I have your number, then? You know, if you do get a job within the next week and stuff..."

"Uh. Sure." I said, leaning over the counter and pushing the "feed" button on the cash register, snatching out the paper and a pen and scribbling out my phone number, and giving him a warning about my phone's horrible reception around my house. He nodded as I walked away, "I'll call you sometime, and maybe leave you a message, okay?"

"Sure!" I said as I walked out the door. I reached the end of the pavement, looked both ways, then at my watch. I took off my work shirt and baseball cap (which was not a horrible thing for me to have done, as I was wearing my G-Corp shirt underneath) and called Chris after getting in my car. He had today off, so he didn't need me to watch the kids.

Christian had asked me earlier if I could take him home, and, because I thought I was going to be watching the kids today, I told him I couldn't. When I got a hold of Chris, I was already out of the parking lot and unable to turn around right away.

So I went down through the Pavillion and back up 85. When I got there, Christian was already gone, but Mike, another guy that works there, was waiting for his dad to show up, and was going to be waiting for a while. "Where do you live?"

"Right off Gingercake." he deadpanned.

"I could take you if you want. I've gotta head over that way anyways." I offered. The ride to his house was occupied by conversation how few hours any one works, job searching and the drag of other employees (mainly Temika). Overall, just a nice, casual conversation. After we arrived at his house, he thanked me for the ride and asked if I was working tomorrow. "Nope, Friday."

"Well, are you working Saturday?"

"Yep."

"Well, I'll see you Saturday then."

You know how I said guys are more interesting to watch than to really interact with?

Yeah. o _o;

Otherwise, Lea was insane today... She hit my butt with a broom. xd And ran away. She's 51 and she'd pick on me playfully and skimper off. xd It was hilarious.

Why don't guys I work with ask me out? The cute ones anyway.

The closest I can get to an 'office romance' as it were is the fourty something year old black guy, Ursel, who works down in electronics hugged me the other day and said I was still his 'favorite person' and the eighty something year old white guy, Frank, who works in Paints and calls me his girlfriend and mispronounces my last name. O _o;;
