you endlessly call
as I stand on the sand before you,
wearing naught but an expression.
And I express my longing;
it brings me to lift my foot and
step forward.
As if in mimic,
you close the gap between us
by a pace.
Our love is the tide,
weakening only to return stronger
than ever. Again,
we strive to close the distance,
my on my side
and you on yours,
in this dance that we have done before.
The tension is thick,
and winds tighter in preperation.
My face betrays my yearning;
you whisper to me...
and finally we touch.
What a glorious release!
A fervor o'ertakes me;
I let out a primal yell and
press closer, closer,
until at last we are
merged.
I could never understand all your mysteries,
but I worry not,
for I am both wary of your dangers, and
trustful of your heart.
After a time, I can feel you
pulling away once more,
and I, myself, must return.
I stand,
your waters flowing off me and
your salt on my skin.
I wait until you recede, then
I turn and leave,
knowing you will always be there, and
that I will return to you again,
on this moonlit beach.
