It doesn't really matter what today is... just so long as I'm alive to write.
Throughout all of the years he had lived in her presence, no matter how many times he said he loved her, he knew...
She would never love him back.
He remembered when he first saw her, nearly ten years ago, in an orphanage. His mother was a kindred soul, and took pity on the lonely girl. His family took her in, to love her as their own. But, everything went awry soon after...
His mother died, and nearly sequential to his wife, so did the father, leaving the young boy and girl in the care of their older brother. He hired prostitutes nightly.
After a certain amount of time, supporting each other, the boy knew that could never be able, ever, to love this girl like a sister.
He told her countless times that he was in love, but she never understood, she only thought of him as her family.
Now, they were both older. He still told her those three words over and over, but to no avail. Recently, she had fallen for another. He was crushed.
He knew nothing could make her want him, yearn for him, nor love him, as he had imaged her in past years...
In present times, sitting on his bed, midnight gone and passed, he recalled all of his fond memories with the girl he loved, and finished the last sentence on his sheet of paper. He placed it to his side and stared at his work. The last few words on his note read, "I love you forever."
He slowly gave a sigh, breathed in deeply, and put the gun to his head.
