My Journey Of Time
my adventure as it unfolds
A Useful Tip

"I'm still not sure about this. Do you really want to go back to that village after they attacked us, Kimiko?" Delila worriedly asked me. All of my common sense was telling me to turn back and keep my head attached to me My heart on the other hand, was telling me that there is something more to that village than meets the eye. My heart was telling me that someone in that village might no something about my brothers, or at least the man who attacked me. He might know where they are. I still don't know who he is, why he attacked me, or how he knew who I was, but I am going to find out. "I'm positive, Delila." I replied, and we kept on our guard when the village finally came into view.

There were men patrolling the entrance to the village, each with a weapon in hand. When they saw us coming down they way, they waved a signal and more people with weapons gathered with them to prevent our entry into the village. Along with them was the old woman again, bow and arrow raised at us. I growled in warning. Delila tapped my shoulder and looked at me sternly. I knew she was trying to warn me. I shouldn't do anything too rash or they might attack again. Irritated, I stood there, trying to calm down.

"I see ye have returned, Demon." the old woman said. "Are you mentally ill, or do you just place no value on ye life?" I bit my tongue, trying to hold back my rage. "I need to ask you some questions." I said through gritted teeth. "I have no need to hear your inquiries, vermin! Now leave our village at once!" She was really starting to tick me off now. I stepped forward. "Look here old woman I... !!!!!!" Before I could even get the end of my sentence out, the old lady fired her arrow at me. I ducked just int time to see a rush of purple light fly by my head. "That's a sacred arrow Is this old bag a priestess?" I thought to myself. I looked to Delila to make sure she was ok. She had jumped off to the side to dodge it. She was ok. The old priestess loaded another arrow on her bow and pointed it at us again. "I've warned ye. Next time, it won't miss." I could tell she was serious. I got up and dusted my self off, and I stared at the priestess. " Look, I don't want to attack you. I just want to know if you know anything about a certain person." She raised the eyebrow over her eye patch in question. "Hmmm, and which person would this be?" She asked, her bow still raised. So I began to tell her about what had happened.

"A few years ago, I used to live in this region, but something happened at the well on the other side of the forest over there. A man in a fur cloak with a baboon's head for a hood came out of the bushes and attacked me. I had never met this man before, but he knew who I was. This man might know something about the whereabouts of my two brothers who I was separated from when I was very young. Do you think you can tell me where I can find this man? If you tell me, we will leave your village immediately." The old priestess stared at me for a while, just looking me over, then she lowered her bow a little. "Oh dear." She said to herself. She signaled the people to lower their weapons. They did so, and the woman stepped towards us. "We have some serious matters to discuss. Follow me to my home." She told us, and she turned around, walked through the crowd of people, and began to walk down the path, urging us to follow. Concerned, I turned to Delila. "You know Delila, this might be a trap." It did seem like one. We're surrounded by people with weapons and we're being led by a woman who just tried to shoot us with an arrow to a secluded area where no one else will be there. "I don't know, but I think we can trust her. If she really wanted to kill us, she could've done it earlier when we were surrounded and she had the chance at a clean shot." Delila replied. I looked at her. I still wasn't sure, but I trusted Delila's instinct. So we walked through the menacing looking crowd to follow the old priestess. The angry villagers eyes were all fallen on us. You could cut through the tension with a butter knife. I could tell that all of the villagers were just itching to attack us. We kept our senses at their peek, just in case we had to make a quick getaway if they did decide to attack.

Walking a few paces behind her, the old woman led us to a small hut at the bottom of a large set of stairs that I saw led to a shrine at the top of the hill. We stepped through the door behind her into her residence and sat down around a small fire in the middle of the room. The old woman's home wasn't all that great. Just a wooden hut with a small bed a"nd a fire pit. We stared at the woman as she sat down and she began to speak. The man you have described to me is named Naraku. So....my masked assailant's name is Naraku." Now we're getting somewhere I thought to myself. "My name is Kaede, I am the priestess of this village." the old woman announced herself as. "I must warn ye two. Naraku is not the type you should be messing with. He is a very dangerous man. He is the very demon that killed my sister Kikyo fifty years ago." Delila began to worry a little, so I laid a hand on her shoulder reassuringly."If ye wish to find him, the last I heard there was a large demonic aura heading North towards the mountains. I'm almost positive that is him. Follow him if you wish, but I warn ye to be careful."

We thanked Priestess Kaede for all her help, and we left the village as we set off to the north to find this demon she had spoken of. I'm gonna be another step closer to finding my brothers now.
