My Journey Of Time
my adventure as it unfolds
A Small Confession

Me being a really light sleeper, I would've naturally not slept at all, but I was tired. I would've slept 'til noon today, but somebody woke me up.It long before anyone with common sense should be up, but somebody apparently didn't want to sleep. Hearing footsteps at about five in the morning, I reluctantly opened my eyes and sat up. I rubbed my eyes as my eyes began to focus with the rising sunlight, even though it was still a little dark out. I got up lazily, then shook my arms and jumped around to wake myself up completely.I looked around at the others. Everyone was still fast asleep, except one. I looked over and saw that Inuyasha wasn't there. "He may have sense like me, but he still generates odors." I thought to myself, and I stuck my nose up and began sniffing the air until I caught Inuyasha's scent. Then I quietly leaped off into the direction of his smell, trying not to wake the others.

After about a minute or two of running, I finally caught up with Inuyasha. I slowed to a walk as I saw him standing near a grassy cliff's edge, staring off into the distance. I walked up behind him and asked. "Inuyasha, are you ok?" He jumped around when I said this. Apparently he hadn't noticed I was there. "Ya, I'm ok. What do you want?" He asked irritated. "Nothing." I replied. "I just saw that you weren't in bed and I was wondering where you went. That's all." He turned back around and crossed his arms. "I just don't sleep much, Kimiko. Never have." He continued to stare off into the distance towards the rising sun."I usually don't sleep much either."
I said. "But I needed my rest after that incident at the river." He looked sort of solemn, but I couldn't tell why. "By the way....why DID you save me? I wasn't important to you, and you said you were after that Kagura woman. You could've gone after her if you didn't dive in after me." I stated. He closed his eyes and turned his head away. "I'll run into Kagura again again eventually. In the mean time you were in trouble. I couldn't let an innocent person get hurt." Inuyasha replied. I attempted to put a hand on his shoulder to comfort him, because it looked as if he were hurt by something, but he shrugged it off. He probably doesn't like being consoled. The others described him as kinda a tough person who can take care of himself. Apparently if he was seen turning soft like this, he would never be able to live it down. "Well, thanks again anyway, Inuyasha." I smiled at him. He gave a small smirk. "Well at least now you can look for Naraku again."

What he said next kind of caught me off guard. "You seem familiar." I looked at him confused. "What do you mean Inuyasha? I shouldn't look familiar. I mean, we've only met just yesterday." I stated. He turned around and looked at me. "I know what you mean, but you just remind me of someone I can't remember from when I was really little. Your scent is a lot like theirs and you sort of have their features, like the ears and tail." His eyes fell upon me, staring at me. Looking me over with deep, certain eyes. As if looking at me for long enough would bring the persons name to mind. But apparently he drew up blank. "Well come on." I said. "The others should be waking up soon and they'll probably worry if we're not there." He broke eye contact with me after a few seconds and nodded. Then we turned back and headed to where the others still lay sleeping.

Not being able to go back to sleep now, I stood against a tree, thinking about what Inuyasha had said. "I remind him of someone. Who could I possibly remind him of? Maybe he met one of my brothers!" I thought. "No. It couldn't be. If it was that long ago, that means I hadn't become separated from my family yet. Our family has never met him before. So that wouldn't be possible. I certainly would've remembered him. I never forget a face." I cast the thought aside as the others began to yawn with their waking stretches. As soon had everyone had woken up completely, Sango said "Is everyone ready to go? We have a lot of ground to cover before we get to the mountains." Everyone then gathered up what little belongings they had with them, and we set back off down the road. The sun shined brightly above our heads as we began our adventure again.
