My journal
A collection of my pointless existence.
My introduction
Well if you are one of my friends you probably know me already. Maybe my friends want to get to know me better or a stranger wants to get to know me. Well this will by the about me section.

Background: I'm Oregon born and raised. I've lived in the same county my whole life. A couple days before my first birthday my dads parents adopted me. My parents lost custody of me shortly after I was born. Shortly after I was taken away my parents divorced. My mom went away since she was originally from out of state anyway. My dad stuck around to be there for me. My grandparents had adopted my sisters a while before they got me. They decided it was best to try and keep the family together. My dad continued to visit us every day until he went away when I was 6. My mom wasn't a part of my life. I don't remember even seeing her once until I was about 11. Then she just wanted to drop back in my life and become mom. She still lived out of state so she could only visit once or twice a year. Over time I got to know her better and I didn't like what I saw. For the past few years she's become distant again, and I'm fine with that. Growing up with my grandparents hasn't been bad. I guess people are supposed to freak out when they find out they are adopted. When it dawned on my I was adopted I didn't really care. They treated me as their own. They did it out of love. They never saw it as an obligation, but rather something they wanted to do. I will always appreciate them for it. I am now 19 and a high school senior. I aspire to become a computer programmer.

Interests: I like guns, technology, and all things military.

Music: My musical tastes are... different. What appeals to me changes over time. I like Metallica, Weird Al, Lemon Demon, Rammstein, KMFDM, and In Extremo. I don't care much for offensive lyrics which is why I like Rammstein. I know the words are bad, but I don't speak German so I don't hear bad words when I listen to it. I also like classical music and choir music. I have a real soft spot for choir music. I'm not like one of those snobby classical musicians either. I won't b***h at someone for calling Mozart's work Chopin's work. To be honest I don't know one composers style from another. I guess that's how it is with music for me. I don't stick to specific genres or styles. All I pay attention to is what songs sound good to me and what ones don't. It's a simple system that works.

Religion: I've been raised attending a Baptist church, but I do not consider myself Baptist. I don't know what to call myself. Usually people who aren't a part of a denomination are considered "non denominational", but it seems like the non denom's tend to be the long haired hippie freaks. I'm not sure what all my religious beliefs are anymore. I try to keep somewhat of an open mind. I don't want religious or political differences to ruin a good friendship so I try to keep religion out of it.

Politics: Remember what I said about my music judgment? I said that I don't conform with one group or another. All I know is what I like and what I don't. That's my political views in a nutshell. To be honest I'm so uninterested in politics that I don't really know or even care about the differences between democrat, republican, conservative, and liberal. Therefore I'm of no political orientation. If people want to consider themselves of a political orientation then that's fine with me. As long as we don't conflict too much we can still be friends.

Personality: Well I'm somewhat open minded. I can be a total jerk though. I don't really get along with people in reality. I don't know what it is about the internet, but by not seeing your face I can talk a little better. I have pretty crappy self esteem, but all my problems are my fault. If anything else at least I can be honest with myself. I'm not social in person, but once again the internet helps. That's pretty pathetic though. I'm really open to the thought of death. There are many people around me who cherish life so I feel a little out of place since life doesn't mean as much to me. I'm not emo or suicidal or homicidal though. Some people might think I am because of my interest in war and in the columbine massacre and violent video games and what not, but well I can promise I'm not though I don't know of any way to convince you otherwise so think what you will.

Heroes: I've got many people I deeply appreciate and respect. My grandparents raised me as their own and tried their best to make me a good person. Field Marshal Erwin Rommel taught me to think outside the box... well studying him anyway since he died long before I was born. My dad showed me the importance of being there for your family.

I'll add more later. It's getting late and I'm tired.
