I'm really looking forward to the improvements of Gaia's core elements: forums, guilds, inventory, and avatar! Any chance we might get a Quick Reply feature for the forums and guilds, so that we don't have to load a new page to post?

Thanks Lanzer!! I love gaia!! If there woud be anything to improve on at all woult be to make the towns alot harder to script. There ar many scripters that like to make going to the towns a hassel for other gaians... xp

I am glad at your thinking about the future of Gaia. I hope ths site has a long and wonderful life ahead of it. I am also happy to read you are rethinking things. In any cause I will always be a Gaian.

On that note. Since I came to gaia I ment wonderful people. I made friends. I have learned and improved in lots of areas. I use not to be able to be able to write my feelings down and how I see stuff. Now I am able to. Spelling has gotten better. Also there are other areas in my life where I see Gaia working. I wish this site a long life. I sure know I will be here for a long run.

Always good to have some idea of what's actually going on behind the scenes here and what's being planned for Gaia.

Hopefully, it will include the wastebin I suggested in the Suggestions forum last month...

Thank you for making this site, and I can't wait to see Gaia expand!! A few things I feel that have been neglected for quiet a while are the Gaia Towns, Homes, and the mini-games. Gaia Fishing kept glitching for me, and Towns haven't been updated for like a year. >.<; The Gaia Guild Page could also be improved. xDD I'm looking forward to seeing what the Gaia team comes up next. ^^

Nice, you've covered it all and seem to be headed in the right direction...and more soulbinding please, I think it's funny when a shitstorm ensues...but so far to me, your soulbinding decisions have made sense, so keep up the good work.

Gaia really is like this awesome tree. I'm glad that there will be some tending to its roots, so that the new features its branched off in can flourish. I do think some of the continuing problems with some of the site's basic features, like inventory, are holding it back right now. We have so many wonderful features now that a little puning to make sure they're all the best they can be will benefit the site as a whole. With so many choices, many people find just a couple areas that are their favorite, and don't use other parts of the site as much. For instance some users are very based in forums and guilds, while others rarely leave flash games and Towns and haven't made any posts though they're still active Gaians as much as anyone else. We want whatever place they choose to be enjoyable.

The fact that 'new users find gaia confusing' has always and continues to -completely- baffle me. Honestly I find the site extremely user friendly and easy to get around. All anyone needs to do is click on the buttons and actually explore and there it is right in front of you. It's simple really.

I'm so excited for the inventory updates!

Everything you mentioned is stuff that I'd love to see updated!

I still can't believe Gaia's nearly six years old. I remember joining back in '03 like it was yesterday.

I'm glad to hear that most of the efforts/plans are going to be toward our current features, rather than new. At a time like this, it is important to think about what Gaia can do with the amount of manpower it currently have. :3

Hm... I'm not sure how to keep new users from leaving, but I think it has to deal with making them feel welcome. Maybe the new user quest should have some kind of story to it, because I felt like I was included in the community by interacting with NPCs, and also with staffmembers (when I first joined Gaia). Maybe baby steps would be good for them, explain what features Gaia have to provide, and tell them that you don't have do everything at once. ...To make it short, don't overwhelm the users, but keep them updated (if that's even possible). xd

You realize that that last sentence will fill up your PM Mailbox..... wink


Still, thank you for what you have dreamed, and what you have done. Since Yuletide 2003, I've been in love with Gaia....

Hey Lanzer, I don't swing by to leave you comments often, I figure anything I have to say has been said a million times before, and you're abusy guy.

I really enjoyed reading this series. I know.. or at least, I'd like to think I understand, just how much you put into this site(Do you still have time to build Gundams?), and I appreciate it. Thank you for everything. Thanks for the late nights, the laughs, and doing what needs to be done, as hard as it is.

Lanzer, I may not have been here from the beginning, but I've been here five years, and Gaia's as every bit a part of me as I am of it. It's my only virtual hangout, and the only entertainment site I feel is worth this much of my time, energy, and money, when I can afford it. n_n;

There are many things that make Gaia special, but Lanzer, there is one thing that's special about Gaia that isn't getting enough credit. The freedom that comes along with the items you so generously give to us. I'm not talking about the fish or the rings, I'm talking about items we use on our avatars, items that we quest for and cherish in our own way. I know you meant well, but we don't need locks to make these items special. Please rethink soulbinding equip items for the sake of status. You always had every right to control our items in any way you pleased, but you didn't, and I saw something admirable in that. But now with the oni and the sash, it seems the only reason was that you couldn't, and what I thought was a cornerstone of this site, one thing I thought made it special, was just an illusion. It breaks my heart. I'm only one user, so I don't expect my words to have much weight, but I just wanted to find a way to let you know how I feel on the issue. You may not even get a chance to read this, but, at least I tried, and that makes me feel a little better at least.

It's so nice to be reminded of how much you guys care about making this site a wonderful place to visit. Gaians tend to get their panties in a wad about every little thing and some of us tend to cause uproar over the stupidest things. Now, I've done my fair share of complaining about some aspects of the site now and then, but I try to do it respectfully, and it just hurts and offends me when I see people throwing your team's hard work back in your face like you guys owe them something.

Don't know if you'll have time to read this, but I wanted to give you my support and my thanks for all of your hard work!

lanzer, i'm just gonna say simply, gaia is a great site and at this time i feel badly about any changes to the guilds, as i've met some of my best friends over the current system, but every other inprovement has gone well, i trust you'll all do what is best for us, all i know is i've been on for a bout a year and two months and became addicted, i also gotten all my best friends into gaia in the last few months, found a way to communicate with my juvenile stepbrohter, and meet girls all across the world, and i trust that in the future gaia will continue to be the great site it is
