Weird Fanfic Idea, Lolz.
Wowwie. I just so feel like writing fanfiction right now. I have an idea for a Kaoru/OC fanfic, just because Kaoru is just awesomeness. whee Anywho, if you read it, tell me what'cha think... and stuff. Yeah? ^-^
This is just my main idea thrown into a prolouge-like chapter. Honestly this chapter's far from being fixed up, but I haven't the time to add more and edit, lolz.

~The Real Story.

Disclaimer: I do not own Ouran High School Host Club. If I did, I would be the happiest girl in the world. ^^

--- Kaoru's PoV

I'm sure you've heard our story before. How Hikaru and I had always been alone, right from the start. How we knew that nobody would ever be able to tell us apart. We'd always kept to ourselves, up until Tamaki Suoh came along. He had wanted us to join his new club that he would start once he got into high school. But we told him that he had to tell Hikaru and I apart first.
Since then, Suoh had continuously popped out of nowhere with some random guess. Sooner or later it had gotten a little boring. So we called it off. Things had been only slightly quieter, until Suoh appeared again just as we were about to tear up a love letter some girl wrote. Suoh had guessed right, but he had only guessed randomly.
Even still, somehow that Suoh managed to convince me and Hikaru to at least see what this club was about. And that was the day we opened the door.
Well, there were some details I never mentioned. There had been a girl who was able to tell us apart, before Tamaki and the Host Club came along. Her name was Mitsuki Kuromori. Her mother was business partners with my father. Through their meetings, we always came to the Kuromori manner with our father for dinner. It seemed to be their idea of having the three of us get along. It was true, we were the same age. Mitsuki seemed as quiet and she kept to herself much like we had.
The first time we met was when Hikaru and I sat alone, on a bench in front of the Kuromori manor. It was snowing out, and the estate looked lovely in the weather. Mitsuki came along, quiet and curious. The three of us were only six years of age. She approached us, and we asked her if she could tell the two of us apart.
She pointed to me. "Well, I think you are Hikaru..." she murmured, unsure of herself.
"You're wrong," me and Hikaru spoke in unison. We could both feel our hearts dropping into a cold pit.
Suddenly, Mitsuki's gloved hands clasped together, and she looked upset. "Oh, I'm so sorry..." she murmured. "Please don't cry..."
By now you could tell, Mitsuki had been the girl in the story I had mentioned earlier, the story that has already been told-- the one who had told us not to cry. Like I have said before, I had taken her words slightly by surprise. Though if I thought about it, Hikaru and I both looked pretty sad at that moment...
We never saw Mitsuki Kuromori again, or so we thought. She was gone, and at the same time Hikaru and I seemed to build a barrier around our hearts, one that nobody would be able to unlock. Even when we went to the Kuromori manor for business meetings, Mitsuki was not there.
But... after six years, we saw her again. She had returned to the Kuromori manor as we entered middle school. Mitsuki was there during our father's next business meeting. Mitsuki didn't look any different, though she no longer seemed curious, or shy and unsure. She was simply quiet, and she possibly looked just about as bored and withdrawn as we did. But her long and black hair remained the same, and besides her quiet demeanor her blue eyes were always filled with life.
That was until Mitsuki mentioned something the meeting after, and I was sure it had surprised both me and Hikaru. "I am sure I can tell the two of you apart now," she spoke, looking at both of us in all seriousness.
At that point, we had assumed Mitsuki was just stupid. She couldn't tell us apart before... what made her think she could tell us apart now?
"Go ahead," I told her gently, doubtful of her claim.
"But I highly doubt you could tell us apart," Hikaru added a little rudely.
Mitsuki simply smiled softly. "Aah, but this only further proves my reasoning," she spoke. And she pointed to me, much like she did six years ago. "You are Kaoru. The one to my right is Hikaru."
I was sure at that moment me and Hikaru's eyes were both wide. She had been right this time. "How did you know?" we both asked. Perhaps the girl was merely guessing.
"Kaoru is more soft-spoken and gentle than Hikaru. You could say Hikaru is more mischievous. Kaoru is more mature," Mitsuki replied. "I had been sure of it yesterday, but when you both spoke to me after my claim, it only further proved my point. Kaoru spoke in a gentle tone, but Hikaru acted more rudely."
We had been wrong. Someone had told us apart. Mitsuki had unlocked our barriers. She had entered into our own world.
The very next meeting, I guess you could say all three of us had come out of our shells. We actually enjoyed our time there. It was nice for us to know we actually have a real friend in this world.
...If only we had known what was to come. We could have said a proper good-bye. We were in our dining room, when Hikaru and I asked father when his next business meeting was.
"We won't be having any more business meetings for now," our father replied. He looked a little apologetic for once, seeing as he knew how we rarely got along with people and Mitsuki happened to be the first.
"Why not?" Hikaru and I demanded in unison. This had been unfair for us. We had just opened up to someone, and now it was all going to disappear?
"Due to unfortunate circumstances the Kuromori's are unable to deal with anything at the moment," our father replied.
As he walked away from us, me and Hikaru exchanged glances. And we both immediately knew-- there would never be a girl like Mitsuki Kuromori in our lives, ever. With this news, Hikaru and I retreated back to our barrier. We kept away from everyone once again. It was not until two years later when we dealt with Suoh. And our story formed back to normal.

~
Aah, I know it is quite short. Like I said I need to fix it up a little. If you have any ideas, I'll welcome them with open arms.
Just please don't flame me and tell me it sucks. Words of encouragement would be nice-- my self esteem is low enough as it is. xDDD
